I keep glancing back and forth between that picture and the one on the right...my eye keeps placing the floppy terrier hair in place of the blue knit cap, and then I get confused between the two photos.
Wasn't too keen on seeing this but suppose I will. (Thought the 1978 version was pretty damn good, despite my Halliwell's giving it zilch number of stars - "long and lugubrious"). But this new version got a good review on R4's 'Front Row' - and anyway, if I go perhaps the light will dawn and I'll finally see why so many fuss over Mr Crowe. Not that he's a BAD actor, 'cos he ain't. But doesn't he lack that 'something extra' ?- apart from being a reasonably appealing 'bit of rough'. And will he get more than the 15 mins screen time that Mr Brando had in the earlier film for the same role? Oh well, better go and find out.
Now I'm doing it - watching your photo morphing into Russell Crowe!!! On another note - have you read about Hannah and Chico, the woman and donkey traveling by foot around Wales? http://seasidedonkey.co.uk/ You could travel with Bingley and a few other fowl, letting them ride on your shoulders when their little feet get tired.
Oh Russell Crowe...yes I am clapping wildly ...spinning ...clapping wildly ...spinning ...oops fell, up I go . Again clapping wildly ...spinning. Russell Crowe ~oh my handsome hero ...love the flowing locks too Thank you Johh :)
Must be nice to resemble a star like Russell Crowe. The only time I was ever told I resembled someone famous was when I was in high school and a bunch of girls decided I looked like Tommy Tune!
oh yeah...russell still has it!!!
ReplyDeleteHe IS a bit of a fox..is he not?
ReplyDelete...AND he can act !!
ReplyDeleteSuperman? Bleh. But Russell Crowe? Double Woof. I'm thinking his wrinkles and floppy hair are still adorable.
ReplyDeleteOh ya!

ReplyDeleteAlison, you're right, there is a remarkable resemblance.
DeleteI thought he was gorgeous in "A Very Good Year" !!
Ditto..... the photos are morphing into one as I look :-)
DeleteAnd the son ain't too bad, either.....
ReplyDeleteOMG, Daddy? Nooooooooooooo! Hey, wait, he's closer to my age!
ReplyDeleteScary, ain't it?
I have always liked Russell.
ReplyDeleteWhatever floats your boat!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Or wrinkles your prune !!
DeleteIs that scruffy looking human really 'Stuporman's' daddy? :)
ReplyDeletePawsitive wishes,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!
Hopefully this Superman version will measure up to the advertisements. Russell Crowe as Kalel (?) is a good casting.

ReplyDeleteHalliwell used to be my bible.....
DeleteI used to write my own reviews in it
:- 0 Nice one, J.G.
DeleteYes, Halliwells never fails to strike a reaction in one, be it a + or, perhaps more often, otherwise.
He's got to be better than Brando as Superman's daddy - a much better voice for it ! ( but will he earn as much ? )
ReplyDeleteCrowe's back? I'll scratch yours if you scratch mine.
ReplyDeleteNot that I am mercenary.
