Going Gently: Thoughts on a Saturday ( Chris' title)

Saturday is a time for pottering. It is generally Chris' only " down time" as he generally works one day at the weekend catching up on his written work. Today he has been gardening. Cottage gardens can become untidy and overfill very quickly, and in order to keep the cut flowers coming ( note my attempt at a Homes& Gardens still life above), he has a great deal of " thinning out" to do

I will try and pop up on the 1st of Sept to lend my support (it's in the wash right now). Those terriers are the bee's knees (was going to say the dog's doodahs but that is a very sore point at the minute, Boy the Bedlington's recent behaviour (peeing everywhere in my house proud sister's kitchen/utility room and chasing any scruffy bitch within a 3 mile radius) are putting his doodah's in jeopardy.

That garden may need some filling out but it is indeed very beautiful and lush. I imagine it's a paradise for butterflies and birds!

Don't tell me about cottage gardens John - it is only a fortnight since we thinned out, weeded, chopped back etc. I have been out this afternoon - there is couch grass everywhere, rose briars stretching on to the lawn. spirea which has outgrown itself - do I need to go on?

Pottering? For a moment there I thought you were doing an article on Stoke-on-Trent.

I like flower shows and I haven't graced Wales with a visit from me since December.

You're lucky you can sell your free range eggs. My boss bought another 3 chooks last week guess what? Yip,the situation is getting serious now. I do miss those golden yolks. Hope you're having a good weekend. x

I just watched the bulldog video myself. It's funny and cute, and I'm glad that they stopped filming when they did. No need to see everything ....
