I have only just noticed that today's post has been posted under yesterday's date........ I think that this is very bizarre as I wrote it this morning, when I was on " Fox watch" on the field.......
I was sick of sitting in the rain.. And so I drove the berlingo onto the grass, and sat there, watching the hens like an over the hill detective on surveillance in one of those 1970 cop shows......
( note the touch of authenticity......coffee cups on the dash board)
What about adding a Llama to your "gang", John, to keep the fox at bay? x
ReplyDeleteI have a local gamekeeper involved cindy x
DeleteDid you also have the newspaper with the cut out eye holes?
ReplyDeleteAnd a trilby on
DeleteBag of donuts at your side? Binoculars? Shoe phone? Code name?
ReplyDeleteCode name vermin strangler........no donuts....just scotch eggs
DeleteGlove compartment full of crisp packets(or Scotch egg wrappers)?
ReplyDeleteJane x
I beat you to it xx
ReplyDeletethis fox is really pissing me off!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of "Springwatch" with Michaela Strachan and Chris Packham but "Foxwatch" with John Gray? Nah! It'd never work!
ReplyDeleteI need a glam side kick?
DeletePerhaps carol vorderman?
Jo Brand. Much more fun!
DeleteEls
Aunt Gladys dressed in Michaela Strachan gear?
DeleteThat would deter any living creature...
DeleteYour weather looks as miserable as ours.
ReplyDeleteThe rain will likely keep the fox away.
ReplyDeleteI would have opted for the donuts, but good on you having the scotch egg.
ReplyDeleteYour persistence will pay off.
ReplyDeleteHaha.
ReplyDeleteStill, hope you succeed, John. Good luck and a better week to you. ♥
What's your plan when the sly one returns John?
ReplyDeleteDon't suppose you are allowed to shoot them?
ReplyDeleteThe coffee's a must-have, but so's fast food and donuts. I hope you caught your sly perp.
ReplyDeleteWhen M Renard cleared out my entire run, I asked a neighbour how they 'managed' the fox population in lieu of a local hunt. His reply involved a long line of strong fishing line tied to a tree, a medium sized hook, and a lump of old gristly meat (the rest I will leave to your imagination). Of course I didn't use his evil method; preferring to just abandon keeping hens. But I was assured that it was foolproof. Nasty!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely get a llama or an alpaca. I have a friend who uses alpacas to keep the foxes away from her 8000 free range chickens on her farm. I have also heard that human pee around the boundary of the enclosure works as it deters the foxes :-) just a thought lol
ReplyDeleteYes donuts needed ! and paint the Berlingo red with a white stripe a la Starsky & Hutch !
ReplyDeleteYou probably have the wrong time zone set for your blogger account. I've noticed before that your post dates are sometimes out of sync. This google page shows you how to change this:

human wee and human hair do nothing. Stupid people around here feed the foxes. I have sat here many a night and out of the corner of my eye at the patio doors eyes shine in. They are not afraid even when you shoo them or bang pots. I hate them. they poop all over and they stink
ReplyDeleteinteresting about "day" confusion...how did your fox stakeout go?
