Tits In Space

Spock and Kirk....true love?

Well in like any performance review...let's start with the good points

1) It's a roller coaster ride remake of the first movie with great set pieces, excellent visuals ( with the usual over abundance of fast editing) and a jaunty ensemble cast to die for .
2) The movie 'enjoys ' fleshing out of past story lines from the TV series and the 80s film franchise and does have an unexpectedly moving subplot involving the bromance between Kirk and Spock which  finally rears its head out of the wham bang wallop.
3) Benedict Cumberbatch's reincarnation of baddie Khan is a cracking success as is the wisecracking pacey script...which complements the action very well.

And the not so good

1) Much of what we see is a noisier, flashier, rehash of the original but in 3D....3D that the film just does not benefit from..
2) The two female characters of Uhura ( Zoe Saldana) and newbie Dr Carol Marcus ( Alice Eve) are a little embarrassing and are dreadfully oldfashioned. Uhura sulks with boyfriend Spock and Carol is filmed in her bra and knickers....not a good idea in a 2013 movie..... Mind you most of the diehard treckers will enjoy the big pair of boobs bouncing around in subspace I am sure
3) the film did not need the obvious 9/11 references which surface in its latter stages

Overall it's an entertaining romp.
And Spock is still a VERY sexy Vulcan
8/10
Ps. Long term fans may recognise where the plot will eventually go .....anyone remember Genesis?

  3. I feel silly because I never thought of Spock and Kirk as having a bromance, but now that you mention it, it's obvious. I'm not much of a trekkie.

    Love,
    Janie

  17. Oh, yes. As soon as you mentioned Dr. Carol Marcus, I knew where this was going. I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD or is shown on one of our multi-million (ok, not that many) satellite cinema channels. And ZQ is totally hot.

  18. Flower Number 8 is FRITILLARIA IMPERIALIS (giant version of the Fritillaria) and lest I led anyone astray, those flowers do not grow in my own garden but are tended by a big and burly full-time gardener at my place of work - sometimes we have lunch together in the Potting Shed and he shows me his seed catalogues, honest. Have a great Sunday. x

  19. Zero gravity and bras. That's gotta be a win-win situation.

  20. Underwear colour coordinated with the set!! ...sigh...

Will watch when it gets to DVD. Looking forward to seeing Benedict C as the baddie. I liked his Sherlock.

  21. Thanks for that review. Consequently, I shall not be going to see "Tits in Space". The sequel - "Tits in Rhyl" sounds much more appealing and I'm also looking forward to "Tits on Garden Bird Tables".

  22. Well I requested a review and here you give one, though I'm now still undecided whether to go, notwithstanding your compelling 8/10. Have to ponder.

    2. Okay, 2D it is - but if I wait until the 20th just MAY be able to see it for only THREE quid, so no great loss if I like or no.

  24. I am very disappointed that with all the technology and wonderful inventions of the future, women are still resigned to wearing uncomfortable braces on their boobies. Do you suppose jock straps were eliminated? Maybe they already have been, I wouldn't really know.

  26. Entertaining bollocks, sounds like my cup of tea. And a chance to listen to the seductive Cumberbatch voice again, I'll definitely be watching this one.

  27. I agree with Jan; surely underwear technology will have dispensed with such things by then? Never needed one myself so I can't really comment but the boobs look distinctly gratuitous and possibly slightly padded? Might wait for it to come on telly....review much appreciated. x
