I see the necessities...fluids, thermometer, vapo rub, tissue of sorts....I think Kim is right..you need a bigger bedside table. Feel better soon John.
Is that VICK's Vaporub I see on your table? I haven't seen that in years! Didn't know it was still being sold. I can almost taste it (yeah... my mom not only rubbed it on our throats and chests, but I swear, we had to stuff it up our noses as well)... What memories! Of course I hope you get better soon... that stuff should cure anything!
Where would we be without Vick? I've gone through a whole tub in the last 4 weeks. Goes on my chest, back of neck and a new one - soles of feet (put a pair of old socks on over it). It's a reflexology tip and it works.
I bought a new jar of Vicks recently. Was feeling poorly with cold/sinus something. I even put some on the soles of my feet for my little cough! Yep, Vicks Vapor rub was the go to for anything that ailed you when I was a kid!! I think it's getting a come back! Though, I don't think it is a strong as it used to be!! Hope you are feeling better soon John!
Keep resting, drink your fluids and allow yourself the time to heal. Try being more aware of the symptoms that are getting milder and the aches or pains that are going away. You will feel mentally better that progress and healing are actually going on despite not feeling your best right now.
thinking af Darryl always makes me feel better...especially from the most recent episode on the bridge...I've switched over to the Vick's patches...work the same without the mess...love that smell...hoping your recovery starts speeding up...
So sorry you are poorly. Just the view of your night table made me remember my last flu. It's tough being all alone and sick. Hope hubby comes home and puts a cool cloth on your forehead. ((((Hug)))) Ruth in Oxnard ca.
I am late to the show, but I would really like to know what fine bird you are cradling over there in the right margin. (Most birds do not like to be touched there.)
I have heard of bed bugs...but never bed slugs. I think you may need to see a nurse! So grab a mirror and reel in horror! AAAGHH! It's "The Great Bed Slug of Trelawnyd" starring Ross Kemp as Earl Gray. Please don't die!
Ill say get better soon or very quickly and come and nurse me here near the duck pond as im not well---poor me 1 came home from night duty and sick yac did have some sleep but sweaty----more work and no energy bedding to change, drink drink drink---gosh im ill donnt fancy a cuppa----off sick tonight---need a nurse to look after me---pass me a grape not---where are the jewelers of my loins when i need them?---no where to be seen!!
I'm almost afraid to read your blog lately - with you and all the other sick people, I might catch the flu!!! Wait, let me sanitize my monitor..... Do get well, John. Before the Walking Dead come knocking at your door.
Don't eat anything with salt...it is dangerous for slugs!
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens to you when I've not stopped by for a week??!! :-) Feel better John, and I think you need a bigger bed-stand!

DeleteBoy, that brings back memories!! My Mom, too. In fact, I still keep a jar of it on my bookcase headboard "just in case".

ReplyDeleteJane x
That's the trouble with flu, it is bloody boring - there's only so many hours in the day that you can sleep. Get well soon. XXX
ReplyDeleteNow you know those 'nicer things' may increase your blood pressure John. That wouldn't be good!
ReplyDeleteI did suggest Hot Vodka toddies at least you would be a happy drunk :)
ReplyDeleteAnd one would think a picture of Chris should be the "nice thing" you'd concentrate on... ;)
ReplyDeleteAre you out of Kleenex???
Vicks is mother approved the world around. Keep slathering it on.

ReplyDeleteTP makes the best nose blowing material when it's needed for the flu. Just tear off as much as you need!
ReplyDeleteVapo rub brings me out in a rash.
Make that man of yours fetch you home made chicken soup
Toilet paper becomes too rough very early in the flu story though. Tissues with aloe vera have my loyalty.
ReplyDeleteLordy lord John...take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear (read?) you're still sick.

Sounds bad. If chicken soup is out of the question then dial out for vegetable and/ or fruit juices.
