Being Naughty

Now don't get me wrong...by tomorrow I will be missing Chris' indomitable presence in the cottage quite markedly but in the meantime I can be quite......quite...quite....naughty!

I have watched series 2  in my underpants!

I have gone back to bed after morning jobs

I have converted the kitchen table into the nerve centre for external Flower Show exhibits
(Thank you blog readers, Pat, Sharon,Nana,Kath, linda  for all of your wonderful entries!)

I have cleaned the cottage WITHOUT having to re tidy it 20 minutes later

I have enjoyed my Olympic Porn without interruption and sighing

I have started to bake for the show

I have caught up with long lazy telephone calls with friends

I have eaten chocolate Ice cream the remains of which  is still in the freezer!

I have cried at sad stories
dying old dog story

  2. With that hottie in the centre of 'The Walking Dead' poster it makes me wish (in the nicest possible way), that I was 'dead' too!

Yes, I'm steeling myself for the inevitable post-Olympics 'cold turkey' - though, of course, there's still the Paralympics coming up, which I most certainly SHALL also be watching.
Sir Chris, with his hunky good looks (AND sexy-cute accent!) was just one of many treats that have made these Olympics just about the best ever in my lifetime - and I can go right back to Rome 1960! There were riches a-plenty to be witnessed all over the place - and the sports weren't too bad either!

Btw: Did you know you have aliens in your bed?

If I can ask such a question without invasion of privacy, who took the second photograph?

P.S. I am getting very worried about your diet.

  5. yes I was wondering that too. I think there is another aspect of your decadent weekend that you're keeping secret ha ha

  7. Never mind, when Chris gets back he'll assert the discipline that you clearly require in order to avoid falling forever into a vale of sloth!

  8. Dying Dog films get me every time. When do I have to get my card to you? I don't have any made at the mo, but I could perhaps rustle one up. Is it just cards or crafts in general? xx

  11. It is being able to sleep diagonally across the bed, with piles of books that I relish in my alone time. And yes, I miss him but there are also some solitary joys.
I hope you have a wonderful time and that just at the point when missing Chris is bigger than the joy of his absence he returns. If that makes sense.

  12. I know how you feel. It is nice having some alone time every once in a while.

  13. At the start, I thought this was supposed to make me feel better because you were being lazy and unproductive. Was I wrong! They should name a saint after you. Oh wait, they already have.

(But who took the picture of you in bed?)

  14. Sometimes those moments alone are precious. Like you (I think) I live with a large personality...it's nice occasionally, and just for a short time, be be alone and feel permitted to just be yourself without worrying/caring for another.
I totally get it John the Dogs
Love, love LOVE that dog story.

  19. I thought you were trying to lose weight--NO ICE CREAM, even when you're being self-indulgent! (Teasing.)

By the way, John, my friend Keith Collins, whose summertime images I posted on my blog yesterday, is an immigrant to the US from southern Wales; he was just back visiting family last month.

  21. I do not know any other male who would cry - like I did - over the man who takes his dog into Lake Superior every night to ease his weary bones. Not for the first time, I'm thinking of asking you to marry me... (oh, wait... ) :)

  22. I am slightly worried by your going back to bed after doing the morning jobs. Who took the photograph I want to know? Have you taught one of the dogs to be a photographer or have you managed to persuade Chris Hoy to call round? (only joking)

  23. Great post John! Man, your mind must go a mile a minute! But then again you are ONLY 50!!
LOVED the 'greeting' card with Mother and daughter and of course the Baking Superman one!

  26. When the cat's away, the mice go about the house in their undies, is that it? ;-)

I cried, too, at the story of Schoep. A beautiful picture and story.

  29. Yes, but did you build a new chicken coop. It's gone ten now and I'm worried where they're sleeping tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ah yes, while the cat's away the mice will play. Ten quid says I won't reveal any of your tawdry secrets to Chris.

  31. John you should see what I do when Carl is away...Oh, maybe you shouldn't...But instead of ice cream I bring a pizza home and enjoy the whole thing because I don't have to share! :-)

  32. That was indeed a lovely sob-story about the sleeping/swimming dog and man.

  33. Watching telly in your underpants, you saucy devil, you!

I cried at the story of old Schoep and his lovely owner too. Beautiful photo, I have ordered a copy from the photographer's website.
