Speaking of middle aged old poofs.. here is a somewhat bawdy clip of my favourite lesbian Miriam Margolyes being interviewed a few years alongside the charming Stanley Tucci and the non-flavour of the month comic Jimmy Carr......
she tells a bloody CRACKING story
Enjoy x
Ha ha, I must watch Graham Norton more often. Nice house. You make a lovely couple BTW
ReplyDeleteDid you see her this week on Graham Norton with Wil.i.am ?
ReplyDeleteShe told the most brilliant stories once again. Have a look on iPlayer.....you'll love it. It is always repeated in the week as well. XXXX
my granny is rolling in her grave, me? I'm ROFLMAO! am I bad? Your favorite lesbian is absolutely hilarious!
ReplyDeletethe first time I ever saw Graham Norton was in a "Father Ted" rerun! Hysterically funny!
sweet photo of you and Chris!
I love Graham Norton, like Theanne I saw him in Father Ted as the incredibly annoying Father Noel Furlong http://www.channel4.com/programmes/father-ted/video/series-2/episode-1/age-old-question
ReplyDeleteOh, that Miriam is a firecracker!
ReplyDeleteMiriam is a national treasure!
ReplyDeleteIs Chris almost smiling?

Wonderful! I love M.M. too. Also by coincidence, H.I. and me have just watched 'The Devil Wears Prada', and I am sure the bloke in the specs was in it?
ReplyDeleteyes stanley played Streep's right hand gay!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had good weather, John.
ReplyDeleteWe've had rain for about 3 hours here, now.
Looks like you had a wonderful day for your trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the clip- very funny.
I love that photo of you and Chris! Miriam is fantastic! Tee hee.
ReplyDeleteMiriam is now my favourite lesbian!! That was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteErddig is nice! You two look so cute together John. You could pass for brothers you know, but that would be considered incestuous in some circles.....
great pix. The face nearer Nigel looks like Marty Feldman to me.
ReplyDeletemegan
Dang. I didn't get to watch the entire clip because I saw enough that I knew to close it when one of the neighboring seniors came walking in just now.
ReplyDeleteMy Internet connection is down and I have to go to the community center to get online you see.
Anyway, I like her and hopefully can catch more of her at another time.
How handsome the three of you look here.
I thought you 2 were attached at the head...then...realization set in...love Graham Norton...he's on the Out TV station here...so funny!
ReplyDeleteHysterical!
ReplyDeleteShe could say anything with that accent and it would sound proper. We had never heard of her, and now we're watching all her clips. What else have we got to do?
ReplyDeleteGay Jewish humour; what more could one ask for!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant ! She was on Graham Norton again on Friday with Will i am and a big comedian bloke ( can't remember his name ) She & Will got on rather well !
ReplyDeleteThanks for a smile on a dreary Sunday morning xx
PS Surely there is a song in " Three middle aged poofs at Erddig " ??
ReplyDeleteI didn't know she was a lesbian? She tells a great story. I love Graham Norton. You all look lovely in your photos. xxxx
ReplyDeleteGoodness me, Miriam Margolyes doesn't mince her words, does she? As Duck says, with that accent she could say anything and sound totally respectable. "So I killed the vicar and then I burnt down the church...."
ReplyDeleteMz Margolyes is a craft old gal... I saw her in the VAGINA MONOLOGUES years ago and she as delightfully naughty with her ad libs.
ReplyDeleteShe seems to enjoy "shocking" people with her cut glass potty mouth...
I adore her
Miriam Margoyles is brilliant, as is Graham Norton. So gifted both of them.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Oh lord, and she sounds so proper as she says it! TOO funny!!!
ReplyDeleteWill the American soldier please stand up? I'm guessing he still remembers that day in Cambridge and the girl on the bike. She has great comic delivery.
ReplyDeleteNice photos and it looked like a milling around kind of day, very relaxing.

Lovely pictures! I wish I had seen Erddig when I was in the UK. My Welsh experience settled around Carnarvon Castle and Aberystwyth, where we rode the narrow gauge train.
ReplyDeleteNow for the rest of the story - I'm still chuckling after watching several minutes of Miriam and I have to go back to the guide thingy and watch more! She's marvelous!!!
Nancy in Iowa
OMG, John, this is HYSTERICAL. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe get Graham Norton in Canada as well. It's the only place I have ever seen her, but she does give me a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteMiriam on Friday night was just fantastic!!! So funny
ReplyDeleteShe has perfect comedic timing, doesnt' she?
ReplyDeleteErddig is one of my favourite houses ever. I spent a wonderful day with my chaps a few years ago and I could happiy have spent another day as well.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I couldn't get any sound on the film clip, but I agree that Ms Margolyes is always a joy. She's also a Dickens expert.
I think I love her even more than Matt! (But probably not as much as that soldier loves her.)
ReplyDeleteShe is brilliant. I want to grow up to be just like her.

What a wonderful YouTube clip! I had tears streaming from my eyes because I was laughing so hard.
