Thought I would post this beautiful song and video again.
I worked last night and I was reminded of the the song, when I was "caring" for a patients' wife in the wee small hours.
The patient was seriously ill.
The wife was somewhat lost and emotional
and when I asked how she was feeling
She said somewhat tearfully
"It's the end of the world"
Thanks for posting this again. It so heartbreakingly beautiful and hopeful. I hate that I know that sad feeling of the end of the world. I'm grateful it has never turned out to be that for me, only the end of the world I knew. But that certainly doesn't make it any easier for anyone else experiencing it (or for me, for that matter). You are a good man, John Gray!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievably poignant and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a beautiful song ~ thank you for posting, John.
ReplyDeleteI confess that I had never heard of Matt Alber (blush) so now I'm off to find out about him!
Absolutely beautiful, so touching.

;-)
ReplyDeleteTerrific song. But it also reminded me that there is nothing quite so good as a decent haircut and a shave in a traditional barber's shop. Even in the video the allegory was there.
ReplyDeleteAnd, btw, I thought he looked much better clean shaven.
Well said, Mitch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this again, John. I'm sorry for your patient's wife, what a painful place to be.

I feel somewhat lost and emotional now, that was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteChills, I got chills. Especially poignant since I have a good friend who said the same thing after her husband of 35 years died suddenly.
ReplyDeleteHe has an absolutely gorgeous voice.
he has a lovely face too Janet!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. So beautiful. I'm experiencing the feeling of the end of my world too, as my beautiful elderly mother is slips away while we keep vigil.
ReplyDelete(Elegance) so sorry x
ReplyDeleteNext time I go to the barber shop I will think about this song. He sounded so much like Rufus Wainwright but with less angst.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a sad week here.....what an incredible song and video....it brought me to tears...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post and beautiful music. I wish all of us could have someone as caring as you to be there for us in our bleakest moments. Some will, some won't.
ReplyDeleteI love how you expand my world John...tenderly, beautifully, elegantly. Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteSo very touching. Most of us have experienced what seemed to be the end of our world, but we eventually get it together and trudge on, albeit, never forgetting that feeling of loss.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like the end of the world at times like that. And in many ways, it is.
ReplyDeleteIt's a difficult job that you do. And we need more people like you to help in times of need.
Yummy. Pity he's gay :-)
ReplyDeleteHis voice reminds me of a refined and polished John Denver.
Lovely vid. Beautiful words.
