I wonder if there is any Italian in me?
( don't you dare Tom!!)
I only say this because during a row, I do have a tendency to throw things.
The last inanimate object that was flung in anger as I recall, was an unfortunate packet of basmati rice, but I have been known to hurl more adventurous fare, the most messy being a whole plate of spaghetti bolognase, which decorated the living room quite nicely.
( The dogs were made up because they all were left to lick it up!)
Having said this, I can " come down" as quickly as I go "up", and generally It will be me to be the first to make up and offer an olive branch so to speak.
Now to all of you out there that need a little more help when making up, the following link may be of help... click on it, write your name in the box and wait 20-30 seconds for the movie to load..... it's worth the wait!!!!!!!!! Enjoy and Happy Rowing!
Damn. What a waste of a bad joke. I really am going to Oxford now, so I'll watch the clip later. If you can afford to chuck Basmati around, you must be rich.
ReplyDeleteI think we've all thrown a plate of spaghetti Bolognese John.
ReplyDeleteWaitrose basmati?
I was made up when I watched this -always wondered what my name would look like tattooed on someone else`s arm !
ReplyDeleteDon't even get me started about some of the things I've thrown...But I've seen the video before. I can't believe that money was spent on this...
ReplyDeletecan't say I have ever thrown food in a row...............must give it a try,
ReplyDeleteGill in Canada
I remember throwing a mug through the glass window in the living room door into the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI must say that the rest of the family started listening to me after that
I threw my ex-husband's dinner against a wall (made by me) not long before I left the bastard. He was being critical of my cooking. The end (of the marriage!) was near!
ReplyDeleteIt felt great and I still don't regret it! (Throwing the food or dumping him!)
I'm always astonished at how long Michael can stay angry, after I've fired off and gotten over it in mere moments.
ReplyDeleteI admit to throwing several things...
It's really good fun putting in lots of names till you find one it doesn't recognise. (Well, I HAVE been to the dentist for three hours this morning and I needed a laugh!)
ReplyDeleteThat was SO MUCH FUN! Thanks John!
ReplyDeleteI think he called me a girl!
ReplyDeletem.
I have often wanted to throw food at someone who rattles me, but my mother told me never to waste food.
ReplyDeleteOnce, for "effect", but upon clearing up the mess, I decided words were easier on the carpet.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...have to admit that many years ago I once pitched a casserole of mac&cheese against the wall. The splosh of very hot cheese hitting the wall was quite rewarding...but then I had to clean it up. Yea - so that won't be repeated anytime in the near future. What a mess.
ReplyDeleteBy the way...always wondered what my name would look like in the sky...turns out rather long and awkward. :-)
:-)
ReplyDeleteWhaddya mean, an Italian inside you? You mean you had ravioli for breakfast or is it gay innuendo?
ReplyDeleteI am much better at throwing 'words' around! Coming from a large family, I wouldn't think of wasting food! lol
ReplyDeleteI could never cast a casserole, fling a Flounder, or throw a Thrush. But I could probably bash some Basmati.
ReplyDeleteI've not flung food, except in a food fight when i was in college. I don't usually throw things, although i stomp a good bit and slam doors.

*chuckling at comments*
ReplyDeleteI tend to mostly just talk loudly. Maybe slam a cupboard door or two...
Never thrown food (except when throwing up)but once threw a large pan into a sink which was full of washing up water which splashed up the walls and windows. I stormed out, dramatically slamming the door behind me. When I cooled down I couldn't get back into the flat...it was Chris' flat and he had gone to the pub...I had no key and had to sit on the doorstep until he came home.

Do you know I've never thrown an object in anger in all my life. And I'm pretty crap at throwing a ball too...
ReplyDeleteI like to throw things when I'm pissed off too.
ReplyDeleteAbout a month ago things were going really shitty for me at work one night. One thing after another was going wrong. Each of us has to carry a mobile phone with us in our pockets, that's on an in-store network, so we can communicate.
I was so angry, I went into the back, into the manager's office and threw the phone as hard as I could at the desk. Of course, being me, I HAD to hit the pencil sharpener and it exploded. I was standing there, covered in pencil shavings. I didn't know whether to laugh or fucking cry.
I think I did both.
I'd never throw a plate of spaghetti across the room. I'd be mortified at the waste of good food. A volley of abuse is about my limit.
ReplyDeleteI used to be a great 'thrower' and poor Tom being the placid soul that he is never turned a hair.
ReplyDeleteDinners, scholl wooden sandals, alarm clocks, you name it...
Glad to say I have calmed down in my old age. lol

With the exception of one time, all I've ever thrown are words.
ReplyDeleteThe one time was when I slammed a glass in a stainless steel sink the night I left my now ex-husband. He had to clean up because I never came back.
The most interesting piece of this blog is the stories of how most readers fling things when angry!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot a thrower. A kicker. I put my foot through the wall in a rented house and have hurt myself countless times.
ReplyDeleteThe apology wouldn't play for me, so I can only assume whoever is not sorry.
I got such a kick out of everything in this entry.
ReplyDeleteIn a fit of pique, after a very bad day at work, I threw my dinner across the dining room to land on the settee in the lounge room opposite. Rhonda just looked at me and said "You'll have to clean that up before you can sit over there and that was your dinner and all you'll be getting tonight!"
ReplyDeleteJohn! You throw things when upset? How you surprise me. I don't think I've ever thrown anything in anger...though I have caused a few punches to be thrown into a wall in my time. (Ex) That video is pretty cool. Made me smile. Now I must pass it on! Thx. x-C.
ReplyDeleteps-How come we never hear from Nigel anymore? Is he okay?
cassie
ReplyDeleteNigel is still around and comments occassionally!!!
I spoke to him last night
I can't recall exactly what this good-looking fellow with a great voice did to me, but I accept his apology WHOLEHEARTEDLY!
