A Welsh Soap Opera
Now for those that thought the pretty Americans in the previous soap video were not quite to their taste, I thought you all would like to have a look at the one and only Welsh soap Opera "Pobol y Cwm" (People of the Valley)
Soap people have so many problems... I did like listening to the rhythm of the language. Rooster Cogburn is a very pretty fellow and his relationship with his roommate is heart warming. It would be super if a batch of chicks came to be.
That was much better although the guy with the blue hat looked like a Rumanian drug dealer. And to all Rumanian drug dealers: please don't come looking for me.
Hahahah! I see "shrink" doesn't need translation!
ReplyDeleteOh! Much better.
ReplyDeleteI want more, now....I'm easily taken in by these soaps!
ReplyDeleteRiveting!
ReplyDeleteThis is the soap that my Mum has to watch.

ReplyDeleteI got hooked on 'Gwaith/Cartref' before Christmas - S4C's answer to 'Waterloo Road' but a little tamer. ;)
ReplyDeleteScarily I understood a few words of that - and I don't mean 'shrink' and 'wireless'!
ReplyDeleteIechyd da.
Strangely compelling viewing, even though I can't understand a word.
ReplyDeleteStill too glamorous for rural Ontario!
ReplyDeleteJane x
These soaps are so predictable, aren't they? That could be taken word for word from the Irish sitcom Ros Na Run.
ReplyDelete(I was googling Ros Na Run and got diverted by Mrs Brown's Bikini Wax. A little-known classic....)

ReplyDeleteHmmm.... interesting. I love how they subtitlers felt obliged to to write "Loud Music"
