"...a harvest lunch will take place in the Memorial Hall from 12 noon to 1.30. There will be a good hot pot main course followed by fruit pie and custard, and we hope that this will be patronised by parishioners and friends. The cost is a reasonable £5. There will also be a raffle and stall. The rector apologises in advance that he will not be able to be present on this occasion"
It kind of tickles me that I have been asked to advertise the event, as I have a feeling that some people in the village think that EVERYONE reads this blog......but I am more than happy to "big up" any village event here.....perhaps I should develop a whole new blog site that the Church/Hall Committee/etc could access?...now that may a good idea!
Anyhow a few jobs on the field need completing today, I am off to visit my brother who has been admitted to St Kentigan's Hospice for a week or so ( I will take in William who always loves the attention). I will also call in to someone I know who may be able to take in a couple of the abandoned geese......
Off to Theatre Clwyd later for a long awaited Audrey Tatou fix
Fruit pie and custard eh? Homely stuff! I'm an Audrey Tautou fan too, but don't tell Tom.
ReplyDeleteeveryone does read your blog John !!
ReplyDeleteI hope their lunch is a great success!
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting rid of the geese, John.
Hope you have as good a visit as possible with your brother.
Will any recreational drugs be available to partake of after the harvest lunch? I hope that the person you have in mind for those darling new Rhyl geese is not a butcher!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your brother is in hopsital....and I hope you can unload that nasty gander.
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone more beautiful that Ms Tatou?

I am picturing a Christmas dinner.
ReplyDeletePleased to see you live in a village where custard still reigns supreme John!
ReplyDeleteI bet William is a very popular visitor to the hospice. Custard, eh? That's becoming an endangered species, I'm glad to see it's still on the menu in the village.
ReplyDeleteWished i lived near you so i could attend some of these lovely dos.
ReplyDeleteHope Andrew can be made comfortable, and that William gives him lots of kisses.

Sounds a lot more tantalizing than our most popular fundraising event, a pancake breakfast.
ReplyDeleteJohn - Everyone DOES read your blog.
ReplyDeleteHave a great lunch - sounds delicious.
But everyone DOES read this blog!
ReplyDeleteThe St Michael's Harvest Lunch sounds almost worth jetting across the world for!
ReplyDeleteThe trouble is that everyone does read your blog but most will be hundreds and thousands of miles away!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure William will be a great hit with everyone at the hospice.
We'd be the first ones in line for that lunch! Sounds delicious.
