I'm such a hypocrite. I love pork but there's no way I could kill and eat that. I eat chicken too but my own hens, when they stop laying, get a long retirement and a decent burial. I'm a rubbish smallholder really - though I can be quite ruthless with vegetables..... alice
I guarantee you will fall in love with them, but keep strong. They will keep you amused for hours. We put a bench in front of their enclosure and it was better than watching tele. Don't forget to get the hosepipe out when it starts getting hot and make them a wallow, they just love the water! Sue
Adorable! Makes me seriously consider becoming vegetarian... Well, after serious considerations, I will defer that motion for a while... until you post another totally adorable picture of No. 21! :)
I see I have a lot of catching up to do - I've been absent this weekend! The piggies are adorable - and I don't see how you could eat them, either - especially No. 21!! Don't worry - I love pork as long as someone else has grown/butchered/packaged it!!
And I'm so sorry about the neighborhood boys - they definitely need lessons in the Golden Rule.
Oh my goodness...she is sooo cute John and her name is Matilda. She just IS a Matilda. Given the opportunity she'll follow you around like a puppy dog. God help you when it comes to butchering time.
Oh sure. They are so adorable at that age. Then they grow up,meet their first 600 pound wirey haired obscenely long snouted boar and suddenly you are "overprotective" and "out of touch with reality" and they shack up together and produce a bunch of halfbreeds which you end of feeding after a couple of weeks because she is soooo tired.....But really. Shes cute
One rare breed being raised by another. It's a funny old world. I was wondering if Chris woke you up with a baby elephant wrapped in paper this morning, John? Happy Birthday (again).
Adorable!! (I will publicly respect your obedience to numbers and call them 21 and 12. But, secretly, I will myself call them Heloise and Abelard....although I do consider 12's fate to be a preferable one to Abelard's.)
Not to mention cute as heck too !

She's as cute as a cat. I'd be all over her. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYou CANNOT eat her! NOT, NOT, NOT!!!
ReplyDeleteA dog will look up to you, a cat will look down on you, but a pig will look you straight in the eye.
