  2. This was so lovely I went to the www.geograph.org.uk site and searched Trelawnyd and took a virtual tour of your village. I see that Gop Hill is named after Gop Farm? Or maybe the other way around. What's a Gop? And how can your country still be so beautiful even though folks have been there for a long time? I think you people have your priorities right. Or maybe realtors and real estate developers don't run the country. I love it.

  3. It is so beautiful there. Did I hear correctly in that that was a burial mound? For locals from years ago? Are those pine trees? And look, there is another stone wall!

    Wikipedia says
The Gop is a neolithic mound lying north of Trelawnyd in Flintshire, Wales. Oval in form, it is the second-largest such mound in Britain after Silbury Hill. Excavations have uncovered no burial chambers or other underground works. This may indicate that it was used as a look-out or hill fort; there is evidence that there was a considerable amount of stone on the top of hill. In the seventeenth century, its prominent position allowed a beacon to be placed there.

The mound lies on top of Gop Hill, a natural limestone outcrop, in the side of which are the Gop Caves.

Gop farm is named after the hill.
There is a local legend that Boudicia, the famous female clan chief had one of her last battles at this spot

This isnot quite correct as locals do say that burial chambers are present on the gop but are empty.

I also wanted to add that in the 19th century many people left the village to start new lives in the mid west USA and utah
