We have just done pressies ! I did very well (solar powered radio, clothes, wellie socks, lovely picture of the Rockerfeller Centre, cook books,Star Trek dvd (oh be still my beating heart- Zackary Quinto!) etc Chris was less fortunate with my gifts....but it is the thought that actually counts (thats what I keep saying and saying AND saying)
Doing jobs now then we are off to lunch with the family......then off to work later!
Tomorrow we need to sort of some proper fencing for the hens! A rather irate woman called to the cottage yesterday complaining about the hens in the Churchyard, she said their presence is "disrespectful" to the dead!.....I can understand it totally ( though I do not agree with her)....so I need to get my wildlife under control.!!
I felt like telling her "and a bloody Happy Christmas to You!!"
please have your chickens scratch around on my grave, I'd love it.
ReplyDeleteOh, do you bring back memories! It wasn't a graveyard, but a gents flower garden, I didn't realize that the hens were getting out while I was at work, (they would come home before I got back, as I fed when I returned), and all the neighbors loved it.
ReplyDeleteExcept one.
He decided I was doing it on purpose. I assured him I wasn't, and we did manage to get them all corralled, which made HIM happy, but the other neighbors complained because they couldn't see "their" chickens anymore! Ha!
Merry Christmas to you both!

I have a nice photo of Radio City NY somewhere. Please post your gift picture of the Rockefeller Center as it sounds fab, would look nice on your staircase. As usual, you have "done well" for gifts. No batteries this year?
ReplyDeleteI had a "quiet day", as others might say. I feel a little "viral" and sluggish, but it's probably "psychological", as they say. I took the time to shave and shower today, and with fresh clothes feel much better this evening.
Thanks for making time to call, anyway. Chris and Mike called too, which was nice. Meeting with Sarah next week sometime. Chris and Mike bought me some fancy handwash (the one that 'your' Chris likes) - far superior to the 59p stuff I usually buy. Socks from Mom and Dad!
The "amazing" TV advertised in Radio Times has, predictably, not surfaced. Why do they cancel all my favourite shows at Christmastime? That said, I have Billy Elliot on PVR to watch (one of only two "feel good" films that I actually like, although it always makes me cry).
I will tackle the Mrs Miniver book (thanks) once I've finished the wonderful The Time-traveller's Guide to Medieval England - a sort of "Lonely Planet" style guide to pastymes [sic]. I am currently somewhere deep in the English Shires, enjoying Pottage, Lamprey and Quince.
