Hearts Still Beating : The Walking Dead

Daryl's hugging everyone now!

The Walking Dead now has a break until February, and after a much discussed ( and criticized) seventh season half where five storylines have all been explored separately, the fans have finally  been rewarded with what they wanted, namely Spencer getting fish gutted and " Team Rick" finally getting together after what seemed like an age apart.
One of the strengths of The Walking Dead is that the writers have developed a strong ensemble core of characters, that you care about. This is a hard one given the multiple layers of antisocial and apocalyptic  behaviours we have seen over the last five years ...so it was with genuine happiness when we witnessed Rick et al meet up with Maggie, and then Daryl ( with big girly hugs no less!) as the family reunited after the murders of Abraham, Glen and the unfortunate Olivia

The stage is now set for the " tribes" to band together against Negan and his band of cut throats. I hope Carol is returned to some normality to join in with the battle, which is set to rival anything seen in The Game Of Thrones .
I'll miss it.....roll on February

  2. I don't know how they are going to kill Negan. They've sure had chances. Boy, Jeffrey Dean Morgan sure plays a good meanie. He must have been a lawyer in his earlier days.

  4. I have struggled with this series so far but last night made it all right again - and the man hug between Daryl and Rick is second only to the hug between Daryl and Carol after Terminus.

  5. As much as I've cried and declared never to watch it again, I am hopelessly addicted. I do notice I tear up a lot...but I keep watching.

Merry Christmas to you and the Prof and all the creatures in The Bosoms.

  6. So happy to see they united again, I can't wait for Feb! BUT the entire second half will probably be about their path to the final battle so probably 6 more episodes before we say GOOD riddance to Negan, and Im about as ready to see Dwight go---> As Norman said on Talking Dead, he is tired of seeing Dwight in Daryl's clothes!

  7. So glad to see Spencer gone. I could understand his hatred of Team Rick (who brings chaos and destruction wherever he goes) if it hadn't been fueled by his hunger for power. True politicians kid maybe? Bonus, he went out with Negan's best one-liner so far. And I love how Daryl has become the brother Shane should've been. Plus, somebody at the Hilltop fixed Maggie's bad haircut! I find her pregnancy hilarious. I chop all my hair off and eat pie bare-handed when I'm pregnant too. :)
