As I could make out ,the only thing the organisers of the Commonwealth Games didn't throw into
it's opening ceremony was porridge
Everything was there
Rod Stuart, The Loch Ness Monster, charity donations,
Susan Boyle , men with kilts and Lulu
But for me
The real stars were the dozens of scotties
Leading out the athletes
With their fast little legs and proud fierce looking faces
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG OMG !
ReplyDeleteOMG !, parsnip
SCOTTIE SSCOTTIES SCOTTIES SCOTTIES.
DeleteI must see if I can find it on TV and record it for Watson and thehamish !
cheers, parsnip
Weren't they wonderful! Wanted to adopt them all. But tbh James McAvoy wasv my favourite. (True Scot Mr G has gone to bed in tears.)
ReplyDeleteI have not seen any of it, as I didn't think I could bear it, grumpy cynical Scotsman that I am, but I may try to catch a video of the doggies
ReplyDeleteThe dogs would definitely be the best part. If I have The Janie Junebug Games, collies will take the lead.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Very little coverage of this here in the States :(
ReplyDeleteSweet little dogs but George is far more handsome than any of them. If he was watching he's going to want one of those coats.
ReplyDeleteWill have to find this and take a look!
ReplyDeleteSaw a Scottie today at our vet.....so cute....thought of you and George.
Anyone joining the Canadians in the snow shoveling event?
ReplyDeleteJane x
Who cares about the Loch Ness monster when they have Scotties in the house. And Susan Boyle, well, she is so yesterday and I bet she is glad she is.
ReplyDeleteShe forgot the words to mull of kintyre too
DeleteMore running, jumping, and SuBo. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThat little Scottie worked hard ! Fabulous fabulous show ! Husband's a Scot & loved it !
ReplyDeleteWe had a giggle at the few wee Scotties that were carried around - do you think they got stage fright? Or maybe just tired? I've lived in Scotland for 38 years of my life and hardly ever see a Scottie. I wonder where they all came from? Lovely touch to the ceremony.
ReplyDeleteThey advertised nationally for them....as for being carried
DeleteThey can be incredibly stubborn
one came from here in Hampshire !
DeleteMy mum had a Scottie called Angus, he bit everyone! I think they're gorgeous. X
ReplyDeleteDid u like him BECAUSE he bit your mother?
DeleteThose Scotties were the stand out of the opening!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the Korean dog was missing...
ReplyDeleteBut there was 80 odd teams and only 32 Scotties.. They were wearing extra coats! But still they knew they were on parade and strutted their stuff. Bet they slept well
