I've only been reading (and loving) your blog for a little while now and even I knew she was staying. She's a cutie! (Side note having to do with your crack whore hens): I have friends who once went to a home to adopt a "cocka-poo" puppy. They were pretty sure that it was a crack house they went to, so they bought what was obviously not a cocka-poo puppy just to rescue it. It grew to be 50 pounds. They refer to her as a "Crack-apoo"; but she's a sweetie.)
She is absolutly lovely.!!!....and her name too...wishing you lots of joy love and live together!!Hope there will be many more pictures to come from Mabel....greetings Francien.
I have just scrolled back to find the start of the Mabel saga John - what a lovely outcome. Wish that lady had phoned me. (No I don't because I am sure you will give her the best home in the world.)
Oh, my friend is going to be so jealous.... She lost her bulldog a few years ago and I know she reads your blog. This little beauty doesn't look as though she has such a flat nose, this must be better for her. What will you name her? Briony x
Constance would be proud ! She's a grand gal, I hope she fits in nicely.... Well done, and you named her my "save the piggy name suggestion", I hope she gives favors you with lots of sloppy kisses and piggy eyes smiles :) ~Jo
Next doors cat has just dropped a litter of 6 unwanted kittens and they'll probably go to the RSPCA animal shelter. If I drop them in a box can I post them over to you? QANTAS should have its Australia-England/Wales flights back to normal by now! LOL!
I am going to be following your Mabel posts with deep interest as I prepare to be a guest of a bulldog next month. I get the impression you are not a cat man John, but the children and I are doing the smiles and gentling with the little stray tabby (I'm sure he's gay) that must have been absolutely brutalised before he sought refuge in the Secret Garden. I think you probably have a more socialised animal to reward your care. Well done.
Dear John-the-dogs, I have been reading your blog for quite some time (found you through Maria) but haven't commented. But, Mabel, oh sweet girl! I just want to say, good on ya for welcoming her into your pack. Look at that worried face! She wasn't sure when she arrived that you'd let her stay, but the rest of us knew. You're a good sort, and obviously, so is your Chris.
It looks like a formal portrait, John. Was this her professional show picture? Y'know, I remember how Constance was restrained and unsure of herself in the beginning, but once she came into her own she was Queen. You think Mabel's going to be a handful already eh? Can't wait for the stories! Welcome home Mabel. We are ALL really happy you're here. Dxoxox

ReplyDeleteShe's a might a lucky girl. It's amazing how things happen sometimes. I call it that moon, stars, and sun thing!
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny. It looks like one of those very formal family portraits that should be framed regally and hung in the library.
ReplyDeleteNow all you need is a Mack...x
