I’m so tired. Just two trained staff at the hospice today and eight complex patients. I got home late , ate a scotch egg in the car before getting out, still in my uniform and then had a mooch around the houses of Cwm Road to see if I could locate Weaver .
A big yowl rang out ,but it was a lonely Bun welcoming me home not Weaver . She looks stressed and on edge without her sister but came into the cottage to feed. She even let Roger sniff her bottom ( a favourite pastimes of Welsh terrier dogs as I recall) so distracted she is .
Last night she curled up on my fat left foot
I found a rainbow light by my front door …..another late birthday gift from sister Janet .
It looks lovely but she apologised as instead of the Gay Rainbow flag I presumed it represented she worried I’d thought she was referring to the rainbow Bridge over which all pets walkover on their last journey .
I hope Weaver has voted with her feet, and found a loving new home who puts up with antisocial behaviours .
But sadly I really do think she’s dead

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the title of this post. Perhaps "Rainbow Light" would be less rattling.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you, Weaver, Bun, Mary & Roger in my thoughts.

DeleteMy cat disappeared for two weeks once and then turned up very nonchalant so don't give up hope. xx
ReplyDeleteBetty , an old cat in Sheffield went missing and turned up 3 months later …I do understand
DeleteDon't give up hope after a few days. I had a wonderful black cat, Rupert, who lived to 18, but went missing for at least 3or4 days when he was about 2yrs old. He came back through a hedge when I was out in the garden. He looked like he'd been in a scrape, and was starving. Me, I sobbed at him. "How am I supposed to look after you when you go and do something like this?" He never left home again.

Just keeping you and Weaver in my thoughts🙏. Jan in Castle Gresley
ReplyDeleteIn my mind/heart there's a candle lit for you, Weaver, Bun and the dogs. XX
ReplyDeleteContact local Vets and cat rescues, TNR (trap, neuter and return), the RSPCA and cats protection with ayour details and a photo of her.
ReplyDeleteKeep an eye on Bun's behavior should it change.
You're better suited to being a dog dad than a cat dad, and that's okay
I do hope you're wrong about Weaver, or at least, if you're right, you find out for sure. Not knowing is awful.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow light is beautiful. Another treasure for you and your cottage. xx
Weaver sounded like a strong survivor to me. I believe wherever she is, she is surviving.

ReplyDeleteyour inner voice is speaking to you, it sounds like....but I do truly hope it will prove you wrong this time... my heart is with you, truly it is, and my heart is sad for you as well.

Do you have predatory animals there? Don't lose hope on Weaver. Cats are funny critters.
ReplyDeleteHearts, prayers and loving thoughts for Weaver and all of you ❣️
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about Weaver. The not knowing is awful. I am still hoping she may just turn up soon.
ReplyDeleteAwful not to know what has happened and if she is all right. I hope she may return.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow light is a lovely gift.
I hope Weaver is simply doing this to maintain his reputation for aggravation and one day nonchalantly strolls through the door.
ReplyDeleteours now deceased ginger tom came back after 2 weeks. Thin, hungry and thirsty. two laps of the lounge, lived another 10 years. don't give up hope. xx
ReplyDeletePut the contents of your hoover at the garden gate as this may help Weaver find her way home. There are lots of tips online for finding lost cats if you want to try them.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow colored light is so pretty, what a great gift! It's hard when a pet goes missing, I sympathize. Especially when there really aren't solutions one can act on.

I hope you are able to get some rest, take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks for you and Bun as you look for Weaver, though it is sweet that Bun is seeking comfort from you and even tolerating Roger's standard dog greetings. That rainbow light from Janet is a beautiful comfort to come home to, and regardless of which meaning it holds, it brings a really lovely warmth to your front door during such a stressful, sad time. Sending you the biggest hug, and I hope you can get some deep, well-deserved rest tonight.
ReplyDeleteDon’t give up yet. Hopefully she will just come prancing in like nothing is happening. Gigi
ReplyDeleteCats and their wanderlust. We never let ours outside, too many people in our subdivision who didn't like them shitting in their landscaping. We always wanted a Catio, to give them "outside" and us the feeling of safety. We didn't really have the type of yard that suited for one. I feel like she's gone for a good wander, found something fun and yummy, and will return from her wanderings with the knowledge that there's no place like home.
ReplyDeleteThe unknowns when a pet goes missing are horrific. I know. Many years ago, my dog went missing and was never found. I have my theories but...?
ReplyDeleteHope Weaver wanders home soon. Get a good rest and have a calm weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteA Scotch Egg is a good way to start your day after a tiring night shift.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful Rainbow Light and I hope it brightens your spirit.
Still hoping Weaver meanders home as she's not been gone very long in cat time. As I know.
Hugs!
I missed your previous post so I'm late to the conversation, but I'm sorry to hear that Weaver is missing. Who knows with cats, though. They get out and wander and get into mischief. She may yet turn up.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I had called Harry. He disappeared for three weeks and came home with an infected wound on his shoulder. He saw the vet, had the wound washed out and I gave him antibiotics. He was so weak that I had to carry him to his litter box, his water, and his food, but he survived and became a giant, 18lb cat. I still miss him.
ReplyDeleteI hope Weaver makes back home.
Hopfeully Weaver returns. Aren't cats infamous for pulling disappearing acts and then returning when they are good and ready, working all involved up into a frenzy with fret and worry in the meantime??? Fingers crossed.
