A dog walk on Colwyn Bay Promenade to photograph the new
Terry Jones memorial sculpture, a homemade chicken dinner, a couple of chapters of
Transactional analysis Theory, a 90 minute video chat with
Nigel ,chores, fire lighting, feet licking ( Mary licking mine) cold roast potatoes for supper
I saw that the sculpture was in Colwyn Bay and wondered if you'd seen it. Those of us of a certain age only have to see that bare arse, and we're instantly transported back to our youth! I'm now humming the Monty Python theme tune.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've had a good day. xx
I felt I needed to see it
DeleteYes , happy hooker , what a beautiful tribute to the late great tj . Reading Michael Palin's diaries atm and every time terry is mentioned , he is surrounded by unrestrained chaos , and now for ....

I hope it’s not vandalised
DeleteI love the Terry Jones sculpture. Do you know if that arse was done from life (before he died, obviously)?
ReplyDeleteI was voted best arse in Prestatyn high school 1979
DeleteI wouldn’t be surprised. I was not!
DeleteI was x
DeleteBack in the 70's there was a popular book making the rounds called "I'm O.K, are you O.K.?" That, I believe, was a self-help book based on transactional analysis. Might this be the same concept you are reading? I frankly don't remember the idea of it but remember thinking at the time that it was supposed to cure everyone of any mental/personality issues one might be suffering from. It was a very popular book available in paperback for many years.
ReplyDeleteA bit before my time python frightened me as a child
DeleteCool sculpture. -Kate
ReplyDeleteIt’s different to be sure
DeleteI must say that though I am very open to norm-breaking in public art, I really do not like the new Terry Jones memorial sculpture. It seems so tacky and in a way quite disrespectful and silly. Terry Jones was more than that.
ReplyDeleteI don’t like it either , but I like the fond news and love behind it
DeleteIt didn't realize it till now, but The Terry Jones Memorial Sculpture is exactly the thing we need more of.
ReplyDeleteWe need more fondness
DeleteWhen I looked at that photo, I thought "Jeez, that looks like Terry Jones when he played the organ chords in that Monty Python sketch." Then I laughed when I actually read the post! What a fitting tribute indeed!
ReplyDeleteNice one Debra xx
DeleteFrom an artistic viewpoint, the TJ figure is far better than the proposed one of our late Queen.
ReplyDeleteI thought that cro
DeleteSounds like a great day
ReplyDeleteIt’s up to me to make a nice day , no one else
DeleteI like it!
ReplyDelete❤️
DeletePerfect day.
ReplyDelete❤️🥂
DeleteI think it is wonderful and suspect TJ would have approved.
ReplyDeleteIt’s nice to be fondly remembered
DeleteAh, the late, great TJ, the Ministry of Silly Walks, and all the MP joyful craziness. Those were the days, my friends! We have MP on DVD along with Black Adder, of course.
ReplyDeleteThe best arse at Prestatyn HS, 1979? Spoken humbly, dear sir?!
Hugs!
I was very proud of that ….it was only the 6 th form
DeleteIt's lovely that there is space for someone to sit next to him
ReplyDeleteYes but there are lots of iron work that could be broken off
DeleteI've visited Colwyn Bay a few time and never really got on with it. Might be worth a pilgrimage though now.
