I feel brighter and more focused today.
A lot more.
For weeks I’ve felt a little listless and out of sorts. Something I couldn’t quantify adequately but something that had brought down my mood and my resolve.
The weather is bright and warm and sunny and I’m making my first list of the day
A to do list.
First thing I collected my petunias from Oli . He’s a lad who lives on Byron Street who was selling home grown petunias to earn extra pocket money.
A book of poetry by Lucas Jones
It’s quite lovely
Bra straps hiked to top position
Best foot forward

Lucas Jones is the most wonderful poet. Captures emotions beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear you are feeling better. The weather helps doesn't it? Very sunny here. I sometimes wonder what the British character would be like if we had better weather more often.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect book to give you at the moment. The sunshine is a big boost for our moods isn't it. I hope it lasts, but doesn't get too hot, I am a big wuss with heat.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Oli. Those petunias look healthy and I wish I lived close enough to buy a tray or two.
ReplyDeleteYou're sounding much more chipper today. I agree with the others, the good weather really does help lift the spirits. xx
It’s important to keep those bra straps hiked. Then you wouldn’t be constantly tripping over your boobs!
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry I don’t live nearby. I’d buy petunias from Olie. Good for him. And those flowers in the vase are glorious.
Those flowers are glorious indeed. You are an example to us all. Hugs. Jxx
ReplyDeleteGlad you've perked up! You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely Spring vase display. Fair lifts the spirits.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better but I am concerned about your wearing of bras. Is there something you want to share with the class?
ReplyDeleteSending hugs John:)
A nice walk and Spring flowers sure do help lift one's spirits.
ReplyDeleteJohn , I am so glad you feel better today! The sun is everything to me. Falls hurt my ego, my feelings, my bones and joints. Sending love and a giant hug from Carol in Atlanta
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that you have perked yourself up. We are having a perfect, sunny, not too warm day here. It does help lift you up.. I refuse to wear a bra so have to watch the tripping hazard. Gigi
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear things are looking up. I need some petunias as well. I wish I had an Oli nearby -- £3 a tray is a good deal!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful vaseful..in a very nice vase.
ReplyDeleteWell done Ollie..may his enterprise thrive!
Glad to hear that brastraps have been hoiked..is onwards and upwards the correct phrase ?
Be kind to yourself, spring is often a sad depressing time. You've had some challenges, your now defunct anniversary, then that sudden FB? reminder of the marriage break up. Your health, Mary's, Bluebell. Two jobs you work hard at still, your approaching bday....life can get anyone down.
ReplyDeleteA small boy with big ideas, selling petunias! How adorable and cheering up that is.
hugs,
lizzy
PS The jug of flowers is so beautiful. I can't imagine finding blooms like that along the road. And..don't forget to use the rustic pottery piece you got on a trip to London, it was creamy white w pink and green hand painted, as I recall.
DeleteJohn we all have those times where we need to pull our selves up by the bra straps but no one does it as beautifully as you ! Onward and upward ! X Bernie
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Across the Pond. I have always enjoyed your blog, but rarely have I commented. Thanks for posting
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect book, flowers, Oli's petunias and his smile, all ingredients for a lovely day for you. Glad you feel happier!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Are those native British Bluebells or Spanish ones?
ReplyDeleteIt's illegal to pick the Native British ones as they're a protected species.
And you cannot pick , uproot or damage wild bluebells in woodland or public land , however bluebells which you have planted in your own garden are not subject to these restrictions so you may cut them freely
DeleteI planted these in 2006
We've just finished winter 4.0. There's still snow on the lawn. Hard to be positive when you keep having to wear a parka and May is creeping in.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long winter.
Beautiful flowers. Afraid my bluebells will be gone before my columbine blooms. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had a happy day.
ReplyDeletegood for you for reading poetry! I should follow your example; I feel great comfort and joy in a poem.
ReplyDeleteand yes the flowers are quite cheery.
The power to heal is within us.
ReplyDeleteAll good things on your list. Sometimes the good days have to be savoured even more to balance the low ones when we struggle to lift ourselves. I love a pretty vase with flowers from the garden.
ReplyDeleteLove your vase, very attractive. Petunias are my favourite plants, they go on and on. Glad you are feeling a lot brighter. The book of poems look very interesting. Onwards and Upwards, John. Regards, Carole R.
ReplyDeleteDid you see that Under Milk Wood is on Sky Arts at 9pm ? It has very good reviews.
ReplyDeleteSo good when the cloud lifts. And such a variety of good things that came your way! (And all VERY John Gray!) Best foot forward, sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI think it is against the law to pick wild bluebells. Send me fifty quid and I will not inform the authorities. Now I look up the comments, I see you have already dealt with this matter so I withdraw my request.
ReplyDeleteGood on ya! And what a wonderful little boy.
