Now we have the car crash drama where the Jimmy Saville look-a-like killer group headed by the dim but manipulative Jimmy ( Jack O’Connell) finally meet up to the unhinged but ultimately benign Robinson Crusoe Dr Ian Kelson ( Ralph Fiennes) and his Man Friday Infected Alpha ( an extraordinary powerful performance by Chi Lewis Parry. Don’t forget we have Spike (Alfie Williams ) from the first movie who is reluctantly conscripted into the psychopathic group and Kelly (Erin Kellyman) a fellow member who shows some much welcomed empathy, so the scene is set for a violent ( and too violent to be honest) sequel that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Not an easy watch , but an interesting film with Fiennes on spectacular form
Janet hated it
Chi Lewis Parry, a strangely attractive “ zombie”

He has a soft face for a zombie

If I lived closer, Janet and I could have gone to a different movie!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it.
Hugs!
Both of us haven’t been out of the house all month
DeleteI have long loved this franchise....but the first one was just pure gold! Not many of the newer genre had me on edge like that one.
ReplyDeleteI'll pass. I hate violence and the first movie scared the bejesus out of me:)
ReplyDeleteYour devotion to zombie movies is commendable (I think!) I prefer the pop group of old, with the lovely Colin Blunstone. However - fear not, dear heart. Masters Of The Universe is on it's way, and the sequel to Red, White And Royal Blue is currently filming, so there is hope for you yet!
ReplyDeleteIs Fiennes ever not in spectacular form? He's scary good. -Kate
ReplyDeleteI side with Janet on this one. Even dishy actors wouldn't make me want to see it! xx
ReplyDeleteNot my type of film either!!
ReplyDeletePeople actually pay for this? I think I'd be with Janet....BA
ReplyDeleteI’m getting enough violence in the news. Maybe the Pres. of the US is a zombie. He has no moral compass and has a cadre of thugs and goons.

I don’t like violence of any kind so no not my kind of movie. My excitement yesterday was hitching a ride with my neighbour to go grocery shopping. It was like having a mental health day. It is minus 22 here this morning so I will be hibernating for a few more days, till the weather warms up a bit. Somehow I got locked inside my car last week and I had to honk at my neighbour to get her to open it from the outside. Now I am afraid to use it in this frosty weather in case it happens again. It was probably an electrical glitch or my key fob battery is weak, but it should not be. Gigi
ReplyDeleteI would probably skip this one.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any of the zombie movies so wouldn't see this either.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Whilst I loved the continuation of the story and the dystopian/ post apocalyptic nature of it (the rest of the world just goes on- the UK is a 2000's time capsule) I could have done without the charity aspect of it. Too violent.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the first two movies... What was it ? 28 days and then Weeks... but after that no thank you......they've left me behind... Movies have disappointed me alot lately.. The latest Jurrassic World entry was 'meh' to me.. the latest Conjuring movie was 'meh'... and i like the Conjuring series... I had high hope for Greenland 2 but it was 'meh' for me... couldn't even make myself go see the new Avatar... the first Avatar blew me away but honestly he could have left it at that... just like Superhero movies no long hold any appeal.. I love going to the movies i just wish they'd give me something i leave the theater slightly disappointed... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteNo thanks. But glad you enjoyed it!
