Another Spanish Choir , but I need to request from my followers , what’s it all about?
Please someone tell me …..
I adored the elderly choral lead
And the power of the choir’s first few notes, it’s bloody amazing
Anyway, Last night we had another robust meeting about the village show, and things are moving forward with rather a rush.
Shit…..I’m out of my depth with this sort of thing …but I’m trying very hard.
Gulp…..

Hey you!
ReplyDeleteIt's obvs a religious choir. But I did not get what he was saying. The notes extend the vowels and I cannot tell if it's Italian, Latin or Spanish!
XOXO
Another magnificent choir and vocals (tho brief!) but my Spanish classes ended after 8th grade when I was thinking in Spanish and switched to Latin in 9th grade.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear about the robust meeting for the Christmas Show. Deep breaths, you can do this. You can do ANYTHING!
Hugs!
You've found another good choral performance. Always a great listen.
ReplyDeleteHooray for the Christmas Show. It's going to be great. Let the holiday spirit begin.
"Local Talent"? Does that mean you'll be performing magic tricks for the children and a saucy drag act for the grown ups?
ReplyDeleteApparently this man is Francisco José Gómez (Kiko) de Argüello y Wirtz, a Spanish artist, painter, composer, author and one of the founders of the Neocatechumenal Way. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiko_Arg%C3%BCello)
ReplyDeleteHere he is singing the first line of 'La Espada de
Ezequiel', 'The Sword of (Judgment of) Ezekiel', about the pain of the Virgin Mary, particularly her suffering at the foot of the cross, at the performance of his complete symphonic works that depict events from Christ's passion by The Neocatechumenal Way Symphony Orchestra and Choir in the Cordoba Cathedral on Oct. 19.
Here's a video (and a lot of info) of the complete concert, the TikTok part starts at around 48 minutes:

Did I see that he went to sit down in the audience? A 'guest appearance' I presume!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say my schoolchild French will be no use, but I see James and Brigitta have the answer! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe village show will be fabulous. Lots of lists, so you can cross things off. You can do it! xx
I know just what you mean about a choir's first few notes. Last year my son got married in a big church in Ljubljana that his now wife and family are connected to. I didn't even know that there was a choir waiting on the balcony behind us to sing and when they broke into song it was the most amazing sound! Apparently they are a renowned choir and my DIL would have been singing if it wasn't her getting married! (Her brother and sister were singing)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll manage just fine with the village show. You have the commitment, talent and positivity and a great team that will ensure success.
ReplyDeleteFeeling out of your depth, is a sure sign of growth. If you didn't feel like you were stretching yourself, it would indicate that you didn't know, what you are still learning. The first time is always a learning experience.
ReplyDeleteDelegate John, everything will be fine. The Villagers will have a great time, you will come home after having one too many Gins, and will crawl into a bed full of animals, tired but happy that you and the troops pulled off another successful Christmas event. Gigi
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of helpers for your show so like Gigi comments - delegate when you need to John...
