I saw a financial advisor today.
I completed my application to the NCPS (The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society ) and paid my dues. I already have insurance in place and a new supervisor booked so I will take my paperwork into the counselling centre tomorrow in order to book my first clients.
This has given me some control back today
An informal message support line continues amongst the hospice nursing and support worker staff, and I’m thankful for friends Ben, Louise, Rhian and Ruth for grounding me today.
Ruth and I had lunch at Mostyn Galleries but neither of us could eat
I am feeling every inch my 63 years, this rollercoaster ride is not what you expect and want at any age let alone now in the autumn of my working career
But let’s change the subject
It’s Bun & Weaver’s 1st birthday ( estimated lol)
This morning as I was FaceTiming with my financial advisor , he commented that a black cat had walked past me, tip toeing on the radiator top. The cat had stopped briefly by the reading chair, then smacked a shocked Roger in the gob before running out of the cat flap
“ That’s Weaver” I told him “ she’s a cunt!”
I laughed loudly at this and snorted out my first afternoon martini of the day

What time is it in New York 2 pm?
DeleteAm I a bad girl?
DeleteOr just a lush?
Lol
Lee
You sound more grounded today, and I'm so glad you do. Points to Weaver for keeping everyone on their toes and in line at the cottage.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Bun & Weaver! It's been a wonderful year for the girls! 🐈⬛🐈⬛❤️
I’m less out of control
DeleteOh that made me laugh , as you wanted it to
ReplyDeleteKeith
Xx
Well, what can we do?
DeleteOh, Weaver is certainly making her presence known now!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're getting things sorted. Still a worrying time for everyone, but you're all supporting each other. I can't believe it's been a year (give or take) since you got the twins. xx
And they look no bigger
DeleteThere is something about kitten faces that has me smitten. We excuse them everything! Glad you're ploughing on.
ReplyDeleteAs Belle Rosen once said “ what else can you do?”
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling more in control, have a financial advisor, and your good friends from hospice and Trelawnyd to buck you up and give you real-time hugs.
ReplyDeleteThis morning I was thinking of dear Pat, the original Weaver of Grass, and am glad her namesake is holding her own in the household! Happy Birthday to Bun and Weaver2!!
Hugs!
Her namesake is a right snotty cow….pat would be amused lol
DeleteSnotty cow
DeleteI’ve never heard this phrase…..lol
Lee
I think Pat would totally approve as she'd be unlikely to take anything from anyone, wonderful teacher that she was.
DeleteHugs!
I'm glad you're feeling a bit more in control of your life. I lost my business overnight because of 9/11. I was 61, single. So yes, I get it. And I pieced together my life again with project work and grant funded art workshops. I was in despair at first, heavy medical insurance premiums to meet, too young for Medicare and social security. Yeah, I get it. And I survived and so will you. So will you.
ReplyDeleteBoyd thank ux
DeleteWhat is it with black cats? Mine is usually referred to as 'The A**hole'!
ReplyDeleteWeaver is a cutie! I feel your trepidation about your career - when my job fell apart when my husband and I separated, my job as the accountant, office manager, accts. receivable/payable, first on phone in a family business all went kablooey. I had to reinvent myself as well as learn to be single in my late 40's. Twasn't easy, but I survived, and you will, too.
ReplyDeleteI’ll bet you made your financial advisor’s day with that statement!
ReplyDeleteSo THAT'S the type of counseling you'll be doing! 🤣
ReplyDeleteSounds like Weaver is number one in the pecking order. Very funny. You sound like you are getting your shit in order. Gigi
ReplyDeleteThankfully, you never said that about the real Weaver.
ReplyDeleteGood thing your new counselling career is ready to go. I hope you can parlay your part-time status to full-time in a short while.
ReplyDeleteAnd hugs to Weaver. She's my kinda cat!
Thinking of you. Kathy
ReplyDeleteThink I've said it before, but Weaver's a cat with an attitude!
ReplyDeleteAwww, what a horrible thing to say about the beautiful little girl, and on her official birthday too, she's just letting him know she won't stand him bullying her.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bun and Weaver.xx 🐈⬛🐈⬛ ❤️❤️
I hope you gave them something special for their birthday tea. Mine get some tuna in springwater.
Jean.
Does one pay a financial advisor?
ReplyDeleteMade me laugh. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhodathunk it would be that easy: a well-placed noun.
Ready for change...
ReplyDeleteWeaver has been rumbled!!
Keep on keeping on.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that you are feeling a tad more positive.
ReplyDeleteI did laugh at your comment on Weaver. So funny.
Happy Birthday to Bun Weaver, that came around quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh my Lord, one year already for the naughty kittoes! Glad you feel on a more even keel, John. My counselor taught me that if there is a problem, there's a solution to be had, and actions to be taken. Sigh, it was never easy to hear her say that, I so wanted to stomp my feet, but dammit it all, she was right. You have taken the actions, John, rock on!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a survivor, you will make it, the dogs need you, and the cats would miss you.
ReplyDeleteToday (July 16th) is my oldest grandchild's birthday. Vincent is 20 years old today! I wonder what the world will be like as she gets older.
