John Garrison - Never Far From Me

One of the simplest and most lovely of songs
In the library today, last day of college tomorrow.
It doesn’t feel quite real, three years of study almost
The Welsh are asleep in the kitchen chair and Bun is skipping in the garden quite alone.
Like old William before her, she’s chasing honey bees, amid the yellow Welsh poppies and the purple alliums
Like a loon
Suddenly there comes the distant rumble of thunder from across the valley

And she races for home

  3. I enjoyed listening to that mysterious song and I wondered if the old video was of John Garrison's own family. The two went together very well but could you post a clip of you singing it please.

  5. Once again you've painted a beautiful word picture of your day. Where was Weaver whilst all this was going on?
Those three years seem to have flown by. Let the new chapter commence! xx

Poetry or prose, this post is lovely as is the song.
None of our pets has liked thunder so Bun is not alone in that.
We're awaiting rain with thunder, too.

    Hugs!

  10. Congratulations! What an amazing accomplishment---I know it was challenging, you made it seem a breeze. So very proud of you. Are you sad to leave college or excited for the future--probably a bit of both.
I'd love to see some springtime flowers in the garden pics when you have time.

    love

  25. A short but perfectly formed post. And you just know that when a cat runs for the 'safety' of home that you have made it the perfect refuge from the world. Congratulations on finishing your college course. xx
