I’m going to quiet on Going Gently for a few days
I will be on night shifts some extra to cover staff absences.
The extra money will be useful .
It’s minus 2 here today and I’m going back to bed soon as a sleep before night shifts is the only way I make it through nowadays.
The Welsh love this siesta time and climb under the duvet with enthusiasm
It’s antisocial though and for the next five days I’m not going to see a soul save for people at work
I hate that
I had brunch at sainsburys
And lit the fire when I got home
Take care of yourself, John. xo
ReplyDeleteHope you return feeling better.
ReplyDeleteTake care on the roads. We'll see you in a few days. x
ReplyDeleteAll will be well in a few days. Take care. We'll see you when it is right.
ReplyDeleteSee you when you're back in the blogosphere!
ReplyDeleteKeep warm, drive safely, sleep deeply and I hope all the extra shifts are easy on you. We'll all be here whenever you feel up to it! xx
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your escape if you can. See you soon.
ReplyDeleteRest well and take care. We will miss you.
ReplyDeleteThough it is for your health and just a few days, you will be missed.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised you are weary, you live your life to the max, job with irregular hours, so change of sleep patterns, hectic social life meeting friends and family, often travelling long distances to do so, theatre and cinema trips, studying, counselling, village involvement sometimes being the organiser and so on. It's not always one thing per day either, sometimes it's work, lunch out and studying, all in one day!
It makes me tired just reading how you cram so many things into your life, and of course it's great that you live your life to the full, but you are clever enough to know that as you age it takes a greater toll on your body.
I'm a few years older than you, a retired Biology teacher, recently widowed, my wonderful healthy husband being killed in an accident. People tell me to look after myself, I often reply that I have to, nobody else will.
I'm not preaching John, but I too want to do all the things I used to do but tire easily and although I push myself to the limit, my body tells me when I can't go on and trying to do so each day, the fatigue takes it's toll and the next day I can feel wiped out. I also now have medical problems which I hadn't got four years ago.
I look back at what I packed into a day when I was 20, 40, and even 60 but can't do that now.
Whilst I refuse to be called old, and my husband and I were always told we looked much younger than we were, my body now reminds me that it isn't what it used to be. As I said I'm a few years older than you, but refuse to be "old".
We out here enjoy reading your blog, about your adventures and about your furry family. I admire what you fit into your days, wish I still could, but please take time to relax, recharge and don't make yourself ill.
You have lovely friends, a caring community and blog "friends" out here, many of whom you will never meet, but we know so much about you and care about you.
Hugs,
Jean.
Hugs, from me to you, Jean.
DeleteThank you.
DeleteWe'll still be here. Take care.
ReplyDeleteRest well, stay safe & warm, and know we'll all be here.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best. Used to work night shifts myself and remember how at this time of year you don't see the daylight! Take it easy and look after yourself. step
ReplyDeleteAdding my good thoughts to the mix. Sleep well, stay warm, drive carefully.
ReplyDeleteUrgh the dreaded night shifts. I feel ya! Rest up when you can, keep warm, eat nourishing food and snuggle a fur baby or two, and most of all drive safely. I'll be waiting for your next blog as always. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYour intent to be silent during this week of night shifts is wise for your self-preservation and self care. Hope you can arrange to have breakfast with a friend after at least one night shift so you don't suffer from friend withdrawal.
ReplyDeleteSafe journeys to work and back as always.
Hugs!
With the winter weather where you are it is time to hibernate!
ReplyDeleteTake care x
We all have times like this. Just fix your eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel and trudge on! We're with you, because we have all been there. Lots of love.
ReplyDeleteAt least you won't be spending much money when you are tied up at work. I hope the kitten-cats will be okay.
ReplyDeleteThey'll be cold with no heating on Pud.
