I’m tired this morning
Very……
But it’s a nice feeling to know I’m not back until well after Christmas.
Today is the only day I’m nothing planned except sleep and clean cottage.
It will be no small challenge as the two Nazi kittens will be making Roger’s life a challenge as tail will be boxed and nose will be twatted as he follows them to every room in the cottage , ears pricked and natural nanny feelings invoked.
I am meeting Nigel in Liverpool tomorrow and the supper party is on Sunday, so operation animal snot removal is today
But only after a deep, wonderfully warm and long sleep
Ah, the words of the de-mob happy. Rest well. xx
ReplyDeleteI know….i know I need a week away from everything hospice
DeletePace yourself. Clean a bit, rest a lot! xx
ReplyDeleteI’ve just cleaned a lot
DeleteThe most underrated and unspoken of benefit of Christmas is being able to take some time out of time, relax and reboot, and just breathe. Enjoy the novelty. And the delight in having those necessary little jobs undertaken and done. By this evening your halo will be shining bright! Happy Christmas, my ray of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteToday village cards and gifts have arrived
DeleteGin from Mandy and John , a lovely bara brith and home made lemon curd from Pat , animal helper,
Lovely
Our cats don’t wipe their noses on things but they do leave skid marks! So glad you have lots of time to regroup and enjoy your friends and family.
ReplyDeleteI leave skid marks too
DeleteOn the carpets?
DeleteGood to hear that the hooligans are behaving themselves.
ReplyDeleteThey arnt
DeleteHave a good rest and a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and well Yael xx Kath
DeleteThank you dear Yael , and you too, be safe xxx
DeleteWhen I cleaned the kitchen yesterday I noticed dog snerts on the kitchen door, so today I will clean the inside ones. It is too cold outside to do that side, so I hope they are all inside ones. Enjoy your sleep in and get ready for some fun tomorrow. I am off to Costco for a walk around as it opens at 8.00 am. Gigi
ReplyDeleteWalking around a deserted supermarket is a quiet joy
DeleteThat all sounds wonderful! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteYou too Tara x
DeleteI must say my cat HRH was always very fastidious. I never had to clean cat snot off anything.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky cow
DeleteHahahahaha, yes, but HRH did claw the furniture, lest you think she was perfect!
DeleteRest well, and enjoy your holiday.
ReplyDeleteThank you for always being here
DeleteEnjoy your break!
ReplyDeleteI will
DeleteI am so looking forward to do a nice thing everyday
Starting you time off with a long, warm sleep then cleaning the cottage and that snot removal will set the stage (now clean!) for a delightful week of self care: the joy of family and friends, and a wonderful variety of enjoyable events plus, as always, good food! The underlying watchword is 'hydrate'.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yourself!!
Hugs!
. I’ve got people visiting for supper on Sunday , the cottage needs to be cosy and smelling of pine
DeletePerfect!!
DeleteHugs!
Wishing you a nice rest and happy holidays John.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you dearheart
DeleteOur cat is intrigued by the 'sweat' that rolls down the window in the back door when I am baking in the kitchen. He likes to lick it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vacation. Sounds like it is off to a wonderful start.
Errrrch lol
DeleteThe cottage will be ready for the holiday. The kittens vs. Roger - so funny. Lots of personality at play.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off.
I’m glad I’m not at work , I need not to be there
DeleteWishing you the joy of the season John xx Kath
ReplyDeleteAnd you too cath
DeleteDon't tire yourself out cleaning! Keep the lights low, light a Christmas scented candle. Rest and hydrate!
ReplyDeleteOh no having guests around on Sunday for a meal, the place needs to be as spotless as I can make it
DeleteI do that too then I am too tired to enjoy the guests. A friend used to tell me, "They come to see YOU, not inspect your house." Wonder why your critters leave snot marks, dogs usually have dry noses? Cats too. Baby Mo, however, jumped up on my white sofas w muddy paws, after cleaner was here, bec I too am having guests. Now if he'd just stop explosive pug fur shedding...Merry Christmas John. [be sure to tell us menu for your party etc. Not fish pie I hope? I am doing a giant charcuterie platter and handmade pizza, wine, semi-fail Christmas cookies.]
DeleteI do not envy you that task old lad, for me I've still to collect Bramble's fluffy tumbleweed from around the house, it just bloody well seems to multiply on its own....think it's perhaps time I gave the stinky old bugger a shearing before the daughter and her husband arrives for the festive season...
ReplyDeleteI hope your sleep was deep and restful John - you need days of it! The house cleaning will be to your usual immaculate standard ... and last 5 minutes with your critters around! But you wouldn't be without them. Our Christmas will be with extended family an hour's drive up the coast to a seaside town where the in-laws live. We all contribute towards the food, and keep the presents to the children. It's the company that counts. Happy Christmas to you.
ReplyDeleteYou have earned your Christmas break John so ding dong merrily on high!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your time off has started! I hope it is delightful.
ReplyDeleteCeci
Happy cleaning!
ReplyDeleteSnot removal? The positive reframe in this household is "nose art", especially when it's on glass doors.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful Christmas break, filled with what makes you happy!
ReplyDeleteAm intrigued by the changes in Roger's relationship with the kittens. He is so sweet and I hope they will all end up being really close.
ReplyDeleteA well earned break from work and time to fully enjoy Christmas!
We've had lots of cats over the years but never any snot.
ReplyDeleteBulldog type dogs yes but not cats.
I bet there's nowhere near as much snot to be removed these days. I know that I can now go a week without hoovering since poor Suky is no longer with us. How she shed so much and never went bald amazed me.
