Wednesday
My supervision day followed by my personal counselling
I met Chic Eleanor for breakfast
I haven’t seen her since she moved from the village
“My Darling John” echoed around the cafe
And people turned to see her hug me, the pashmina swishing like a cape
And they smiled
It seems like Chic Eleanor is one of those people who can light up any room. How wonderful for you that she is your friend. We all need someone to call us darling and give us a hug! xx
ReplyDeleteShe has a warmth which suits a natural energy
DeleteI think we all need a Chic Eleanor in our lives. You are blessed to have her in yours. Ranee
ReplyDeleteI think we all do
DeleteWhat a lovely way to start the day, John! Tomorrow is our Thanksgiving. Your blog is one of the things I am thankful for. xo
ReplyDeleteEllen that’s kind x happy thanksgiving x
DeleteI too am thankful for John and the critters!

DeleteWhere did Eleanor move to and why? I suppose she was driven out by her fierce love rival - the redoubtable Joyce Trellis.
ReplyDeletelol she’s downsized to a nearby village 2 miles away
DeleteAh, the lovely Eleanor seems to brighten up every room, and mood.
ReplyDeleteShe’s coming to the dinner party I’m organising
DeleteWhat a delightful way to start your day: Chic Eleanor and a wonderful hug! I was going to say what others have said, lucky you and why/where did she move? Perhaps not too far away since you met for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of your day is as delightful.
Hugs!
A couple of miles that’s all babs
DeleteA wonderful start to a good day!
ReplyDelete😺
DeleteHow wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt was
DeleteIt made me feel good just reading that, she must make your heart swell with pride as she walks towards you after a greeting like that. She sounds like the friend we all need.
ReplyDeleteThe theatre of her warmth is infectious
DeleteI didn't realize Chic Eleanor had moved. Glad you got together to bask in the elegance!
ReplyDeleteShe’s not far
DeleteChic Eleanor moved from Trelawnyd? Shock! Was planning on visiting soon, but may have to amend my plans now! ;-)
ReplyDeleteShe’s not far away dear P
DeleteWhat a lovely start to your day.
ReplyDeleteIt made my day
DeleteYou are wonderfully blessed with friends. And we readers are blessed to have you, John.
ReplyDeleteIt is my pleasure to share them with you
DeleteTo everyone
DeleteI think John has a skill for description , he captures the essence of a person or an event , or a concept and in just two or three words, describes it.
I see Eleanor in my mind , I see a demure English rose , an older Kate Winslett or Emma Thompson
Lee
I so fancy your Eleanor.
Of course xx
DeleteBrief and i can see all of it in my mind
ReplyDeleteKeith
Xx
I’m glad you said that, it was my objective
DeleteWhen you write about Chic Eleanor, it makes me feel better.
ReplyDeleteI think she’d love that
DeleteAnd that made me smile. How many of us would greet you with that same endearment. XO
ReplyDeleteAll of you I hope
DeleteGetting together with Chic E makes for a perfect day. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love how much everyone here is invested in her
DeleteEvery time you write about Chic Eleanor, I think "I need to get one of those pashminas!"
ReplyDeleteBonnie in Minneapolis
lol get one
DeleteI hope you were suitably dressed for a pashmina embrace.
ReplyDeleteXmas jumper
DeleteI went back up to look at the picture, could have sworn there was one there.
ReplyDeleteChic Eleanor sounds as delightful as her name. Every time you mention her I imagine someone as wonderful as the great Penelope Keith as Margo Leadbetter in the good life but not so sniffy! She would throw a great pashmina too!
ReplyDeleteI have always quietly envied people who unselfconsciously glide through life. They naturally draw people to them.
ReplyDeleteIt all sounds very glamorous.
ReplyDeleteThere's nowt like a bit of flamboyance!
ReplyDeleteSome people just bring warmth and joy and she is one of them. Glamorous too!
ReplyDeleteand they smiled. You seem to be more focussed on the people watching you than focussing on your companion. Smiles can also be ridicule, perhaps you misinterpreted them.
ReplyDeleteWtf? Jealous much?
DeleteNeb out anon nothing for you to concern yourself about
