Well, I spent the morning in the library writing my defence mechanism essay
Then spent a lot of the afternoon playing with AI on line which has made me look unreadably sexy or a dead ringer for Benjamin Disraeli .
The styles have been hilarious , occasionally flattering and just odd
Here are a few
Ai ‘S spelling is dreadful
John, these are great! Hard to pick a favourite. The sixth one down is nice except for the spelling mistake.
ReplyDeleteRobin
But the village looks like a school
DeleteIt's a good job you got your Uni work done first, 'cos that's one helluva rabbit hole you've gone down! xx
ReplyDeleteI know , I adored the “ fame”
DeleteI grinned the whole way through and in the end thought you must have forgot the "scruffy" adjective in your description. I think the 7th one down , just for the picture of you. Beth G.Person.
ReplyDeleteI do bet that was fun for you to see them all when they came up!
No beth I did add scruffy and the last two turned up
DeleteThere seem to be more choices since I commented earlier. I love them all .
DeleteOh! This looks like great fun! Wasn't an option to comment with Google account! Simone. X
ReplyDeleteIt was great fun …..blogger is playing up again
DeleteFun, but you can see how unreal AI is...
ReplyDeleteAnd that’s a reassurance
DeleteOMGGG
ReplyDeleteSome of those book covers are absolutely adorable!!!
XOXO
But then look a little closer
DeleteI don’t usually comment, but…looks like a fun rabbit hole you have landed it. Enjoy! Sharon, Colorado USA
ReplyDeleteOh I’ve loved the indulgence
DeleteMy faves are the ones where you look like a studly young lumberjack! The animals all turned out well, didn't they!
ReplyDeleteI turned out well, I’d shag myself
DeleteHaha ... I think you'd be in a queue!!
DeleteYou get down with your "geetly" self! Too funny! Some are cute, but not many capture your handsomeness.
ReplyDeleteLol I wish . Number one was a little TOO TRUTHFULL lol
DeleteWhoa John, these are an overload of food for thought, there are some amazing ones though, which is your favourite? Jan in Castle Gresley
ReplyDeleteMy favourite ? 11 and 19 ( if the dogs were more appropriate and I was chubbier)
DeleteIf you don't actually write the book you are going to regret this over the coming years.
ReplyDeleteI know, there’s lots of shittily written books about , I should at least try lol
DeleteI agree. John, there is a wonderful book in your story.
DeleteThese are all quite lovely but I think perhaos that AI needs to try a little harder.
ReplyDeletePerhaps that’s reassuring for all of us to realise Jaycee
DeleteI can see the last sitting on a table in Waterstones near the entrance - in my mind's eye x
ReplyDeleteIt looks commercial
DeleteAI apparently has you crossed with Thoreau and a Yorkshire vet. The bad spellings are the cherry on the cake.
ReplyDeleteAnd strange as it sounds non of my spelling was wrong
DeletePerhaps some would see handsome guys among those pictures.I like pictures of you more though because you look like someone who is
ReplyDeletetrustworthy ,-Mary
They can always photoshop me
DeleteI think my favorite is the one with the Dorothy lookalike and the chickens on either side of her.
ReplyDeleteBut none have a hole in their jumper!
ReplyDeleteAnd I was hoping those were volumes 1 through 35!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I like 4,5, and 34 becuase I'm sure you have siling eyes, John.
DeleteHugs!
I don’t think AI got you at all. You are better looking and scruffier. And friendlier looking too. Gigi
ReplyDeleteThe. Nuances AI will always miss
DeleteIt’s all me me me me me
ReplyDeleteOf course

DeleteDuh! It's his to play around with... of course it's "me"; what tosh once again
DeleteOh Anon, troll of blogs
DeleteJust go away or die gracefully
Lee
Those AI generated images are quite yummy looking. I like the book cover with Dorothy and the chickens.
ReplyDeleteThey say we fancy those who look most like ourselves.
ReplyDeleteNo 7 for me too. Dorothy and hens, and rolling hills.
ReplyDeleteAll the AI renditions of you are quite handsome in a multiple of different ways. It all depends on what pleases you. I still like YP's book design best of all.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to have to grow a proper beard for the publicity shots x
ReplyDeleteAnd lose 50 lbs
DeleteGood Lord! So many options! I personally love the ones of Dorothy with the chickens, but sexy lumberjack (7th from the bottom) is quite alluring, too. (Maybe a little too young? :))
ReplyDeleteFight u for him
DeleteKeith
Xx
Have mercy......how will you ever pick!! Too many good choices. Can't wait for the book!
ReplyDeleteLinda from Alabama
I love them- how fun!
ReplyDeleteI rather liked the one that looked like Hemingway.
ReplyDeleteI've not ventured into AI, other than the chat thing which I found wanting.
Fun post, John.
I much prefer the original but the A.I. generated ones are amusing.
ReplyDeleteFollowing successful book sales, Orinoco have now created a second edition of "Going Gently" with a different cover. Come over to my blog to see it.
ReplyDeleteQuite a range of ages there, from what looks like your 20s, to perhaps 80ish, but I don't think you've been doing this blog THAT long.
ReplyDeleteoh these were marvelous! Each one more handsome than the other! Thank you for doing and sharing them; I got a smile today.
ReplyDeleteThis was so much fun and so lighthearted that it brightened my evening and chased away the gloom that was following me.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome, although none are perfect, I like the style of the last 3.
ReplyDeleteWhether you be Going Geettly, or Gong Gettlly, they are all sure-fire best sellers.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fun! Great to play around with.
ReplyDeleteLoved this, so handsome all those men, which is the real John gray. Great fun, made me smile on a dreary morning. Thank you, noreen
ReplyDeleteCovers seven and eight are my favourites. I don't like the ones with someone in them so much because it's just not you!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brilliant, although on photos 3 and 4 you seem to have kidnapped my cat Toby!!
ReplyDeleteI like the one with the hens and you looking like Logan Roy. You didn't feed anything Sheffield into your AI request? - that would have blown a gasket or two in the bucolic scene.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the bulldog with the church in the background, although it looks like Going Gertly. Anyway, your real face should be used. Much better than anything AI can produce.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute. Why do I hear the theme from All Creatures Great and Small playing in my head when I look at them?
ReplyDeleteI like the real you better!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO late to this but just have to say - brilliant, and gave me such a smile x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
AI is so good at generating pictures! I love several of these covers.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing missing is a zombie in the background...
ReplyDeleteWrite it with the dog as the narrator......
ReplyDeleteAn idea
DeleteMy vote goes to Going Gertly!!! I love that idea!! But yeah, they make me feel a bit sick really.
ReplyDeletehmm.....*amusing* yes.......but none of them capture what I feel is you, or your true essence (IMO)......or what I believe your true essence IS! Susan M/ Calif
