Kelda made us two videos to share
I wish I had taken more of the villagers in today’s exhausting Christmas Fair
Bunty in mufti
Dave Smith in his usual garb
Dave and Liz
My sister Janet and Mrs Trellis
Ian and Nick
Cameron
NPippa and Anne
Hattie and Adam
Cameron’s Parents
The exotic Melinka LevVey and the very sassy Loraine
Tracy Manchester with an exhausted Bridget in the background
The Manley’s
Gwawr and Jack
We had a harpist
A community choir
And just three members of the Rhyl brass band which, despite being left in the proverbials by their colleagues managed several sets of jolly hymns
I went for the fat bastard Christmas jumper look seeing that my Victorian outfit didn’t fit
And enjoyed my lantern making
Thanks for sharing. I almost feel like I was there. I must say, Jack aged 3 has a better lantern than John aged 61, but I suspect Jack had a little bit of help! π xx
ReplyDeleteHe did , little git
DeleteHow sweet, John. Looks like fun! x
ReplyDeleteIt’s been a long nice day
DeleteLooks like everyone had a jolly time! Bravo to all who worked so hard & contributed to a wonderful afternoon. May all the lanterns glow warmly & brightly.
ReplyDeleteAnd I won a coconut
DeleteThat looks like a fun time, John aged 61! You daft man x
ReplyDeleteIt was fun x
DeleteSounds a fab day, nice to see all of the lovely villagers having fun. I am so envious that you had a harpist I love the instrument/music (check out Lorena McKennitt). You looked really well in your FB outfit and a good photo too. Back to scotch eggs, we have just one that was a duck egg wrapped in ham, bloody hell it was goooood π. Jan in Castle Gresley
ReplyDeleteArnt they??? A meal in one as they were always designed to be
DeleteWhat a wonderful community you live in.
ReplyDeleteThere are thousands of villages and places in cities and towns that have had similar days
DeleteThe village should be a reality series... or at least the Manleys should.
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are an arty sweet family
DeleteI love everything about this post! The video by the Biscuit Queen's daughter (sorry, don't remember her first name) and their later photos together! Plus all the photos of Trelawnyd notables, especially Bunty! and Boffin Cameron! Too bad about the Victorian outfit not fitting, but you look very festive in your FB Xmas jumper. And special kudos to the 3 stalwart members of the Rhyl Brass Band for showing up and playing carols -- I would have gladly sat and listened to them and thrown some money in their busking container.
ReplyDeleteIt’s always more poignant because of the flaws
DeleteYour last photo made me smile! This sounds like a lovely community effort and a festive day. And I will never again think 'Facebook' when I see the letters FB, lol
ReplyDeleteAlways FAT BASTARD always
DeleteWow! What a great collection of photos. Looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteHard work, but yes, fun x
DeleteSo good to put faces to names. Thank you for sharing your village with us. Jackie
ReplyDeleteAnd it’s the people that are important
DeleteI love it when you give us faces for names we've heard!
ReplyDeleteThere were others….the Randas…people I missed to photograph
DeleteIt’s always lovely to have everyone along
ReplyDeleteThank You Kelda xπ
ReplyDeleteYes Flis
DeleteIt’s nice to thank the video lady, who has her own rather special tiktok following I see.
John being surrounded by like minded people seems simply joyful
They are the new characters in his life after his chickens and Turkey and pigs have now gone
Keith
Xx
An interesting look at the blog cast Keith, I agree
DeleteGood work Kelda..and all..great to see a community doing things together
ReplyDeleteWe talked about you today x
DeleteItching to get round friends in North Wales. X
DeleteYour Community knows how to put on a fabulous fair. Everything looks great and the people came out in force to enjoy the day. Your photos show a wonderful day with lots of good holiday spirit.
ReplyDeleteNice people doing nice things for a nice village
DeleteLovely photos. Good times.
ReplyDeleteXπ
DeleteThis looks like a great time. I'm even beginning to know the people we've seen before at these do's!! Thank you. John age 61, that rhymes!
ReplyDeleteIt all makes a kind of sense
DeleteWhat a wonderful group of people, always happy to do their part, and enjoy the company of like-minded villagers.
ReplyDelete~Jo
Nice to hear from you jo
DeleteKelda's 2nd video is delightful as well -- and glad to see you featured in a couple of shots!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a fat old man
DeleteWhat a lovely thing to say
Delete“Bitch”
DeleteKeith
Xx
Please thank Kelda for us. I saw Melinka in one of the videos - what a stunning dress! And I spied you - definitely festive dress too John, although you'll have to keep going with the diet so you fit the Victorian Gentleman's costume by next Christmas! You have a wonderful community spirit in Trelawny, it looked like a great event.
ReplyDeleteI get the fat message lol
DeleteOrdinarily I see you as one individual that I have grown to care about. It warmed my heart to see you as part of your "hometown/ village" in this post. -Mary
ReplyDeleteA group of people like my friends and my family that have carried me forward mary
DeleteLee here,
ReplyDeleteI wasn’t going to come back but I found this post rather emotionally charged.
You have found a niche
It may not be the partner you deserve
But it’s a group of people who are kind, and giving, and caring and likable
I am home Lee
DeleteI’ve always known that
So lovely to see the characters that fill your blog on a regular basis, they look a friendly bunch, no wonder you fit in so well. ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful, if exhausting, community party! Nice to meet up with some familiar names, too!
ReplyDeleteHope you sleep well tonight and have festive drams!
Hugs!oh, and please make that 'festive dreams'. It can stay drams if you prefer!
Hope to see your lantern shining in the cottage window.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Trellis is very posh looking, eh?
Ceci
What a fun day, the photos of your villagers are nice, everyone looks so happy. Glad you and Jack enjoyed lantern decorating. Was booze involved? Gigi
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks like they enjoyed the festivities. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteThe photos and videos made it feel like a real experience and I feel I am getting into the Christmas spirit now! A lot of time, effort and fun involved I would imagine on the day. Thank you for the invite to the village fair. Especially to Kelda for the video of the stalls - " maybe not for a Leeds fan" :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I love a bit of community spirit. X
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post. You live in a wonderful place with wonderful people. How much happiness there is in your place.
ReplyDeleteOh, what merry japes! - costumes, hats 'n all! Noticing that among all the smiles there's definitely a scowl or two, which we'll put down to fatigue. (I trust the harpist wasn't half-pissed!).
ReplyDeleteLooks like a merry time was had by all.
ReplyDeleteTracy Manchester looks remarkably like Frances de la Tour. Bunty makes me think I should ask for an elf for Christmas and Mrs Trellis rose above the masses in her elegant Dickensian furs.
ReplyDeleteEvery one is having great fun!
ReplyDeleteHow delightful! Wish I could’ve been there!
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful and you like great in your Christmas jumper. I work in a primary school the kids are off the scale giddy already xx
