The Netflix movie Eurovision Song Contest - The Story of Fire Saga seems to be a heavy handed comic farce centred around Iceland's bid to win the camp as Christmas competition
The final song Fire Saga ( the band) performs is a sacarrinesque ballad Husavik ( my home town )
And suddenly it's captured the public attention and has become a real hit !
Go figure
omg...will farrell!
ReplyDeleteOn first hearing about this film I really wanted to see it, being the lifelong Euro super-fan that I am. But after hearing and reading exclusively dire notices my enthusiasm has been irrevocably extinguished. Curious enough about this one song though, so I'm heading to YouTube.......
ReplyDeleteIt starts like NEVER ALONE from Greatest Showman
DeleteLook out for the old Eurovision favs all singing together on one homage from the movie Raymondo
You'll love it .
I'll do just that, JayGee. My interest has now been resurrected, Lazarus-like. ;-]
DeleteSounds like a crap film with good bits
DeleteIf Husavik is your hometown, are you from Iceland??
ReplyDeleteSorry, Jaz, for me Will Farrel is meh. :)
Hugs!
I think I've heard this on a terrestrial TV advert
ReplyDeleteYa ya ding dong. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteWe loved it! But then, we watch Eurovision too.
ReplyDeleteHello dearhearts
Delete"Go figure"? Go figure?!... Get back to speaking Welsh lad; or even English. Go figure!?... Am tempted to respond with Sheeesh! as my American colleagues would say. Hard to beat the Father Ted Eurovision episode, I suggest.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, that is a far better song than any I have ever heard at the real Eurovision.
DeleteI like " go figure"
DeleteWow that girl can sing! I have watched Eurovision since childhood but I hadn't realised this was out on Netflix yet so thanks for the heads up x
ReplyDeleteBest one in it is Dan Evans ... love the part he plays ! XXXX
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard that song before but am loving that clip. She has a lovely voice - and I especially love the reactions as she sings in Icelandic.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you point me in the direction of lovely things - thank you x Rose
