This was due to getting dehydrated in London
So like Tom Hanks' character in The Green Mile I had a rip roaring bladder infection to contend with.
My usual treatment (Bar antibiotics) is several litres of liptons Ice Tea and so last night-all night, I was peeing out the bugs every two hours without fail
Thank you nhs, but I am due a cystoscopy on the afternoon of my birthday...
Perhaps they will find something responsible !
I'm better today
My sister- in-law and I went for a meal then out to see Tolkien, which was shite.
We walked out of the cinema after an hour , which suited me as I needed a pee!
Off to bed soon with another litre of liptons!
Hey ho
Off to bed soon with another litre of liptons!
Hey ho
Glad to hear you are better.
ReplyDeleteEarly nights all round. Keep on peeing x
ReplyDeleteI'm watching QI with said tea
DeleteI'm in bed now. At least you're not at work.
DeleteI'm glad you are better and I hope it goes away completely! Those infections are not fun. I used to get a lot of them and would flood them out with cranberry juice. Now I just drink a lot of water all the time.
ReplyDeleteA urologist I worked with decades ago said enough water would wash any germs out of the plumbing system as long as you didn't drink too much water as that would be toxic. Cranberry juice is helpful, too, as is the wonder drug Azo Gantrisin which stops the burning.
ReplyDeleteSurely you can reschedule that cystoscopy as it's outrageous to have to endure that on your birthday.
Hugs!
It's fine ... I've been waiting an age for the appointment
DeleteOh no!
ReplyDeletePeeing all night is a NIGHTMARE. Literally.
Hope you’re feeling better!
XoXo
If you're getting dehydrated, you should check your creatinine levels, also cbc/wbc.
ReplyDeleteUnderstood
DeleteThey are now saying that cranberry juice has no effect whatsoever on UTI's. Water. And whatever works for you.
ReplyDeleteYou have my sympathy.
Congratulations on your birthday and best wishes for good health.
ReplyDeleteNot till June 1st xx
DeleteI get kidney stones. I'm developing my third batch. Dehydration is what started this mess. I try for two litres of liquid a day.
ReplyDeleteOne of our Urologists used to tell you to go home and have at least six bottles of lager to get things flushed.
Plus fluids I hope alcohol dehydrates you
DeleteThat's what I said! But nope, he figured all that lager would go right through, lol
DeleteI hope that bladder infection clears up soon. Sorry to hear you didn't like "Tolkien." It's just started playing here and I'm hoping to go to it. Now I'll have low expectations for it.
ReplyDeleteIt was piss boring
DeleteAfter the ping pong ball video there is a film about 'how to remove a stump'. Very useful.
ReplyDeleteI've been plagued by bladder infections since I was in my teens. I try to flush it out first, but if that doesn't work I always have a supply of Bactrim on hand. Not fun. Hope you're feeling better by now.
ReplyDeleteI keep Macrobid for the same reason!! Water doesn't help!!!
DeleteHope you are better soon. It's a while to June 1st!
ReplyDeleteHave you tired cranberry juice? I am so sorry for you - its the pits!
ReplyDeleteBummer that Tolkien isn't up to snuff. The leads can act, so I can only imagine that the script is poor.
ReplyDeleteIf you can get to a health food store, A Vogel's Uva Ursi taken at regular intervals is miraculous. Costs about £12 but it works and is a great standby. Also available on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteHere in the 'States, cranberry juice is readily available, and it's supposed to be good for urinary tract problems. If you can find some, it makes a great mixer with vodka and any sort of citrus juice.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll play that video. I'll take your word for it. :) Seriously, your plan sounds like a good one. Sometimes I think these infections (or obstructions, if that's what it is) can be washed out or greatly minimized with fluids.
ReplyDeleteGWS xx
ReplyDeleteI drink a lot of water and nag my family to as their pee is orange !
ReplyDeleteHope you are much better today x
A cystoscopy for your birthday? How delightful! I hope that the NHS staff on duty at the time of your appointment - including porters and cleaners - gather round and sing "Happy Birthday" in unison.
ReplyDeleteOuch, I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeletewater (or in your case Liptons) works just as well as anti biotics - at least worth a try.
ReplyDeleteHaving had a couple of these nasty bugs myself I know how it feels, not only the peeing but making you feel pretty low. Let's hope it soon clears up and there is nothing wrong. Surely you are due some peace in life soon.

When you start peeing blood I can tell you water, Liptons and cranberry don't work. I had a cystoscopy a few years ago and the Consultant invited me to look down the camera. Most interesting, the inside of my bladder.
ReplyDeleteCystoscopy, isn't that Inyouendo in Italian?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure as a nurse you will have considered the possibility of your UTIs being linked to your bladder not emptying properly and bugs multiplying? Hopefully the cystoscopy will pinpoint something.
ReplyDeleteI suffered with bladder infections for over 50 years until I found a doctor who did a cystoseal (SP)....I have been free of any problems since. I can feel your pain. Too bad about Tolkein I have wanted to see it.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks for the tip ... not about the bladder, but about the movie. We were thinking about seeing it yesterday. Now, not so much. Anyhoo ... glad you're better.
ReplyDeleteThank you for answering the ping pong ball question. I've lost sleep over that. Hope the bladder problems come to nothing and are cured quickly.
ReplyDeleteHave had a cystoscopy, stayed awake beautifiul to see inside myself.. have recurring problem, didnt know tea would help, cranberry stops bugs sticking to lining so def worth having some I always have to resort to antibiotics... hope all ok for you though
ReplyDeleteOh man.... i'm sorry to hear that Tolkien was a bust... I was looking forward to seeing that.. But then you and i don't always agree moviewise so maybe this will be one of those times.. Feel better John! Hugs! deb
