The phone has rung a few times this Morning, every caller passing on the sad news that Sylvia had indeed passed away .
My thoughts are with her family today
The village has lost someone quite special.

What a star she was, we mourn the loss of a young star from our village... bless them both x

DeleteIt wasn't meant to be funny Nana Go-Go, just a reflection on the fleeting nature of human life.
DeleteThat is one of the good things about village life John. Everyone can share in the sadness of Sylvia's death and that makes it easier for her family to bear. Your village show will miss her terribly - we had a similar instance last year at the village show where the farmer is the veggie judge - and how she is going to be missed this year - but her name lives on.

ReplyDeleteOh, wow. I'm so sorry :-( I only ever met her once but she was indeed a lovely lady and very funny, too. Her family are in my thoughts.

ReplyDeleteSo very sorry. It's always sad to lose those pillars of the community. There are very few left in the community I live in. When I was growing up it was like a village. Everyone knew everyone. These days I hardly know anyone!

It is especially sad to lose a lady who gave so much of herself & her talents to Trelawnyd. Perhaps part of Sylvia's legacy will be the way she made a difference in the quality of life you experience in your village. Sylvia served as both a community leader & an active participant in the towns' social life. It sounds like she was a mover & shaker of the village as well as a baker. People like Sylvia can make all the difference when it comes to living where people work together for common goals & maintain a good quality of life.
ReplyDeletePerhaps one of Sylvias' legacies will be that she insprired others to volunteer & make a difference by actively participate in Tredlawnyd's social life.
Perhaps, next year, the Flower Show organizers will commerate Sylvia's contributions by hororing her in some way at future flower shows.
Right now, is the time to acknowledge a special woman's passing, but more importantly celebrate her life.
People who are so active in their communities are greatly missed when they pass on. Sometimes it's the end of a chapter, really. Sympathies to her family.
