A Picture Paints ........................

With the Prof away, I tend to fill my time with the great and the good.
The " Good" was an extra Samaritan shift last night, a lunch out with a stressed friend tomorrow and a planned trip to see Auntie Glad with Pat, the animal helper in tow......the great will be cinema treat visits to see Pedro Admolevar' s latest Julieta and Emily Blunt's The Girl On The Train.
Oh , and I forgot the mundane too!
Grids need clearing out, the rest of the back garden shrubbery needs removing, William needs his steroids reviewing and the new outhouse door needs painting.

If I find a spare minute, I shall endeavour to reply to every blog message...if I don't Tom Stephenson may have a stroke ....he's right , of course, it's very rude of me not to reply!
Anyhow

I was sent an email yesterday . It had no text or typed message  with it.
It was just a photograph of the inside of a bog standard Southampton hotel room
But it moved me
It was sent by the Prof.
On the impersonal bedside table was his travelling photo frame

In it, a photograph from our wedding day.

  2. Chris must have done something terribly wrong - sent to Southampton and placed in an impersonal hotel cell. Was it for impersonating Roger Moore?

  3. The more I think about it, the more I come to appreciate that Almodovar's Bad Education is, without doubt, one of the ten greatest films I have ever seen.

    2. I just invested in two boxes full of Almodovar's very early work. It's an eye opener....

  7. I loved Julieta. I think you will too. Woody Allen's Cafe Society is also good, if it ever comes your way.

  21. Went to see "Sully" tonight. Loved it but then I'm a great fan of Tom Hanks. They showed a short of Girl on a Train and it looked gripping. I loved the book so I hope they did it justice.

  24. The Prof's jet set lifestyle isn't as I thought. I would rather be home at your cosy cottage than an impersonal hotel room. Do you have a photo of him displayed at home?

    1. To be fair most of his hotels are much grander affairs..I guess that helps a little

  36. My favorite Almodovar film is Talk to Her, and there are many close runners up. Julietta has not yet opened here. I look forward to seeing it.

I'll not be seeing The Girl on the Train, having read the book (did I just quote a Beatles lyric) and figured out the plot way too early on. If the movie had been filmed in London and its outskirts, I would perhaps have bought a ticket just for the setting. xo
