The Walking Dead Review (Spoiler)- The Next World

Well a supplement blog entry just for me and a few die hard Walking Dead fans.....

Michonne and Rick

Finally, a bit of lightness hits the show weeks after the Anderson family got chomped on at the fall of Alexandria, .Rick and Daryl go all bromance and have a jousting adventure with the new bright and wily opportunist Jesus. Tara and lumpy likeable doctor Denise are now an item ( though Denise let slip that Tara is off on a supply run for two weeks - ohh no!), Enid and Carl play at being moody teens, Spencer gets some closure when he finds his walker mother and alpha female Michonne, finally gets jiggy jiggy with her mirror alpha predator Rick.( a fact that has been three series in the making)
Sex and the zombie apocalypse has strangely been thin on the ground for most of the characters in The Walking Dead....a fact that has always surprised me somewhat given the " this could be our last night on earth" mentality of the show.......
I'm surprised that they all haven't been shagging like rabbits..
Nice to see a change of pace for one episode at least!
Daryl's scenes with Jesus were especially bouncy .....watch that space! There's a connection there!

  3. Definitely one of the best. Speaking of character development and emotions this is one for sure. SO nice to see Michonne and Rick hook up. Loved it!! And loved the ending!

If you can catch "Talking Dead", the actress who plays Michonne was on and gave a lot of insight.

  4. I loved it and couldn't wait to see your reaction to it! Funnily enough, someone has already set the Darryl and Jesus scene to Benny Hill's theme music..

    1. OMG, that is exactly what my TWD friend at work said this morning, she heard Benny Hill theme tune during that scene! Didn't ring true, I think real Daryl would have shot him...

I couldn't find your address so I decided to post it here. BTW, I hope Mary doesn't get too smart and open the door as I discovered McKenzie did today. Seriously.

  6. It was a great episode and some much needed moments of light relief after last week. The Daryl and Rick scenes were great. I also loved the scene on the porch with Carl and Michonne - basically 'I love you, you are family so I would stab you in the head if necessary.'

  7. Loved this episode as much as the horrifying one before it, but it was great to have some laughs. Jesus is a new favorite. I just hope that his appearance doesn't mean we will be losing Daryl. However, Rich and Michonne…the chemistry and family was powerful, but somehow the sex stuff seemed like it will complicate life too much. Can't imagine how it must have felt for two actors who have played comrades for so many years to suddenly have a passionate lip-lock--not that there's anything wrong with it to quote Seinfield, but, um awkward? However, having Jesus surprise them naked in bed was pretty fun.
