Les Liaisons dangereuses

" bosoms" McTeer

Last night we took my Aunt Judy to see the live screening of the National Theatre's " Les Liaisons Dangereuses"
It was bloody great.
Now whilst Dominic West ( a favourite actor of mine) was excellent as the  Vicomte de Valmont the whole shebang was dominated by Janet McTeer's clever and scheming  performance as the Marquise.
Undeniably sexy and in her mid fifties McTeer underlined perfectly, the power and the attraction of a woman who "would never be ordered around by a man" in a man's world.....  She was magnificent
Judy and The Prof loved it......
And even though I say it myself
The bosoms were magnificent !!!

    So is Dominic West ..
I am so glad you enjoyed it .. I saw the film years ago with John Malkovich who is brilliantly creepy and evil.

  16. I saw it on the London stage in the late 80s, before the film(s) were made ('Les Liaisons....' and, almost simultaneously, 'Valmont') but can't for the life of me remember who the two leading parts were played by, both successors to Rickman and Duncan. (I've got the programme somewhere). I remember being as disappointed with the staging (all on one unvarying set) as I was thrilled with the language, which for me didn't come over in the film of the same title.
Not sure if things have changed with this new production which I would also dearly love to see.

    2. Oh yes. I never knew that and would have given anything to have seen her live, though she'd hardly have come to mind as a 'natural' for the role.

  17. Corseting my dear man, it's all down to proper corseting.

I love Les Liaison Dangereuses; wonderfully Byzantine in plot and costuming - you lucky things.

  18. have only seen it in film never live performance.
lucky you! even in film it's usually beautifully done. but OH to see it performed live. what a treat.
my husband always said of bosoms...
"anything over a handful is a waste"

  19. LOVE her and Love Mr. West you lucky bastard.
I have a hefty bosom and always hated it since it brought unwanted attention. Now that I am older, I could care less if someone looks, but I envy those who can run around without a bra. LOL

  20. Re: "hefty bosoms"

The police got a call to an address where people had heard gunshots. They rushed right over. upon entering the house they found a lady ( with a ponderous bosom) , on the floor with a bullet wound to her leg.
When asked what happened, she said she wanted to commit suicide. The policeman said why did you shoot yourself in the leg. She said I was going for my heart , right under my breast.

  21. I have only seen the Glenn Close, John Malkovich version { which I've seen so often that I know it off by heart } and loved it and also liked the modern version, ' Cruel Intentions ' with Reece Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe. A great story and I do love a period drama ! XXXX

    1. Malkovich played the role as a sexual predator, West was more masculine and played the role with more easy and friendly charm

  23. Bosoms..OMG...I spend more on boob and cleavage exfoliants and moisturizers than for my face. When I die and people walk past my coffin they will say, "My, my, her face looks like shit but check out that boobage!
