Ooh! Sore! Presumably you didn’t have your glasses on, so the damage is from whatever you hit going down? I’m glad Mary isn’t hurt too. But you’ll feel battered so a scotch egg might be therapeutic. XX
Oh, John. Are YOU OK? So dangerous. That’s something we worried about with the cats every time we got out of bed (or walked anywhere). We had some close calls. Great look, though. Are you auditioning for Harry Potter: The Ancients? You almost got the scar right.
So sorry for your collision with whatever left that squarish injury on your forehead. We got a night light for the hall and bathroom when we had those 3 kittens and their mama. All were mostly black so illumination was essential. And your last tetanus shot was when?
Oh John! How frightening and painful. Did you go to the ER? No stitches? Tetanus shot? This past winter when it was so cold I had to train my pug not to sleep by the frigid drafty window and when I moved his bed he took to sleeping on the floor between me and the bathroom. It was hard work training him NOT to do that, he was almost 12 but we did it. [then I felt so bad he never got to sleep again in his special spot under the window, he died so suddenly last month.] Maybe closing the bathroom door at night would stop Mary from sleeping there?
Hugs John, hope you are okay. I stumble easily these days too perhaps more when I am tired and when I fall cannot stop myself these days. Going back to the early days when I was a right tumble tot. Would a very low light on the landing help or one that comes on with movement in case you cannot sleep with any light on. Glad that Mary is okay. Hugs from here and wishing you better. OW! One of my little dogs has started standing directly behind my feet. I've almost fallen a few times. I'd like to think at some point I will look for her automatically but old brains need lots of training. It doesn't help that I nursed a sweet lady who broke her neck tripping over her little dog. One of the last things she said to me was expressing concern for her little dog. She died a few hours later. She was one of the ones you don't forget.
From now on, I suggest you use a Victorian chamber pot placed close to your bed. Failing that, how about an empty 2 litre Coca Cola bottle? You say you hit a knob? Mmmm...interesting.
Seriously though - I hope you recover quickly. Quite a shock to the system.
Sorry for your fall. Nasty cut. Poundland sells small plug in nightlights,it helps. Only £1 too. I have one in my bedroom for nightly bathroom visits, it makes the room dark but lighter, if that makes sense. Savlon might help heal your cut. Carole R
Oh damn, John, that had to be a shocker at 5 a.m. I used to tell people that if I'd made plans with them, and didn't show, I'd most likely been killed by one or more of my cats as they wound 'round my legs as I walked through the house. Lordy, hope you heal quickly, glad old Mary wasn't harmed.
I took a fall a few months ago. I tripped on a root, not a dog, but I fell flat on my face. There was blood but nothing like your poor face. So scary. And at 5 a.m. it must have been even worse.
My dog always stays behind me so as long as keep moving forward I should be fine.. my house is very light at night, so good for me. So sorry you tripped over Mary. I hope you are okay now. Gigi
My word, you are in the wars. Sorry that happened. ππ
ReplyDeleteOuch! Glad one of you survived unscathed. π€ xx

ReplyDeleteOuch! In their dark Welsh cottage my parents got small plug-in night lights for safety on the nightly visits to the bathroom.

ReplyDeleteEasy does it, John.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Ouch! I hope it's not too bad. I did a similar once. Hurt myself more trying not to land on the 30 lb. dog who tripped me.
