This video is amazing
It not only underlines the importance of “debrief” after a particularly emotional piece of drama and filmmaking ( in this case the famous emotional romp ending of Hamnet) , but it sorts of encapsulates what it’s like to be truly human.
Years ago, I remember feeling so free……with inhibitions hidden by darkness and alcohol and youth
Dancing in the dark ontop of Weston Park Hospital roof in 1990
There's much joy among the yoof.
ReplyDeleteLife is so hard a lot of the time, that when we can release all those pent-up emotions, we should channel our inner child and just let it out in whatever way we feel. I remember skipping down the road, like a little child, just because I felt so happy. I was in my late 20's and didn't give a toss that people were looking at me like I'd lost the plot! xx
ReplyDelete"We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing." Play like someone left the gate open today.
ReplyDeleteWe had jump ups every Friday night in Grenada and I really miss just letting loose. Gigi
ReplyDeleteI remember dancing on a table top and writing my name on the ceiling on a restaurant in Mazatlán with my lipstick, I had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI have a photo of my late husband dancing on a table top in Grenada, he then got down and dirty danced with the waitress and everybody was laughing histarically. Gigi
DeleteBrilliant, just brilliant!
DeleteWhat a joyful start to my day. Thank you, John.
ReplyDeleteNow, it one everyone everywhere could have this experience with their brothers and sisters world wide.
Hugs!
We have fun like this at my Zumba class. Dancing and laughing while we try to stay healthy.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree!!!! Zumba is the best and fastest hour of my day. Dancing, smiling and losing myself and hopefully forgetting my fears and worries for that hour. I pretend I’m on Broadway with my group of friends I’ve met at class! I might have slowed down a bit at 71 but will go until I can’t walk up the steps to get there! Karen
DeleteThese days i'm most free with my young Grandchildren... 5 and 7... the eldest just mastering the bike without training wheels... the rest of the time is spent being who everyone else needs and wants me to be.......Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThis was the audience at the gig we went to last week Nothing amazing just normal behaviour!
ReplyDeleteAfter the second preview of Les Miserables at the Barbican, the show ran over so overlong, trains and buses had stopped running. No-one cared. Almost a thousand theatregoers poured out of the theatre with new best friends, marching and leaping down Beech Street singing "Do You Hear The People Sing." Never heard or experienced or been part of anything like that before or since. And that is why that show has remained a world wide phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Sheer joy.
ReplyDeleteYes John, those inhibitions of youth were so beautifully liberating.
ReplyDeleteI watched this yesterday - so joyous.
ReplyDeleteI think we all could use some dancing just about now.
