Haggis

 I cooked haggis for lunch
Believe me there is nothing nicer than sliced haggis, fried alongside an egg.
Bloody lovely
I added boiled broccoli to balance out my sugars and drank a couple of jugs of ice cold water.
I also caught up with some friends on line
Bantering conversations about how crap LOTR movies are
Silliness and stimulation , I like to call it.
Food for the schoolboy who still lurks underneath my breastbone

I’m working two nights

  1. And now I’m hungry?
Anything LOTR is worth my time.

  3. I'm so old, I had to look up what LOTR means! I read the books, many moons ago, but the films are not my thing. They go on even longer than the books! But if it's your thing, go for it.
When are you able to give up working nights? They must really bugger up your metabolism. xx

Ummmm ... no, thank you. Shudder! I'll pass on the haggis and have only the egg.
Hope you're feeling 100% better now so these two nights won't flatten you.
On Sunday and the week after, I might be missing as a power outage is likely when this huge storm ("Fern") arrives Saturday night. Hope and pray the power stays on!

    Hugs!

  7. No thanks on the haggis. Glad you are feeling better, John. I am too.

  8. I'll pass on the haggis as well. I wonder how many people see that video and think it's real (in the US for instance)?

  9. On every breakfast buffet in Scotland, the best I had was in a pub in Edinburgh. Well made, it is tasty.

  10. I'd pass on the ice cold water...cool yes, but not that cold!
The vegetarian haggis from the best haggis maker in Stornoway is also very tasty 🙂 (and is available in most supermarkets)

Ooh, I love haggis. And I love those haggis films on YT. Someone is very clever and has created a wonderful little world of the imagination. More of them!

I was too frightened to eat haggis and black pudding because I was advised it was full of bad fats…. Maybe on Robbie Burns day I will have a wee sliver for old times sake

  14. I’m glad it makes you happy but despite you telling me to believe you... I tried it once and I don’t.

    https://www.instagram.com/rafa.rafafa/

    https://dk.linkedin.com/in/pharmacist-rafaela-carvalho/pt

  16. I too am a Haggis fan, and I buy 6 packs online of 'Grants' Haggis, just so I always have some on hand in case I don't have any 'fresh'.

  17. Weirdly for a Scottish man Alan actually prefers the vegetarian version of haggis, he says the spices are more rounded. I LOVE the TikTok ... who even knew they could get so round!! ;-)

  18. Oh John, 'how crap LOTR movies are'?!...IDK, I may have to stop reading your blog. JK! That's kind of a comfort movie here. Cold, sick, down? Snuggle up on the couch with the pup and LOTR. Or 'Happy, Thank You, More Please', CODA, Come From Away, Sound of Music and any number of other comfort, drivel movies I love.

Hope you are feeling much better!

  19. That must have been the English haggis in the clip, quite different to the Scottish haggis. I'm sure both are equally tasty.
