Mama said there''d be days like this ... sorry it was today and am glad you have a G&T to ease things. I sewed today but nothing to do with clothes so I'd not be on The Sewing Bee.
Yes I watched it too. I think the right one went but am sad for him because he really did want to stay in. I was also pleased that the woman with an arm missing won garment of the week. She was so pleased.
It's not the kind of show that I would choose to watch but Shirley likes it. I think that Sarah Pascoe is a much better presenter than that Lycett bloke because she is nice to the participants and seems genuinely interested in fabric craft. For Lycett it just seemed like an ego trip.
I don't quite understand why, but I really like that show. I tend to watch the repeats. I suppose it's the creative process which appeals, although sewing itself leaves me cold.
Sorry your shift was a trying one. A few more weeks and part-time working will be with you. More time for you and the girls! I've sewed all my life, but have never watched the Sewing Bee. I'll have to give it a go. My Dad always joked that I bought the fabric in the morning, sewed the dress in the afternoon and wore it in the evening. Never stood up to much scrutiny though! xx
I've only ever seen the first season of Sewing Bee. Love the show, and Ann certainly deserved the win IMHO. I don't get the outrage at her win, over the younger contestants. The show has not shown in the US on "regular" TV channels since, and I'd rather not watch sitting at my computer, I don't have a streaming setup to the TV (still on cable), and forget the tiny screen on the phone. The Repair Shop is another show I wish they'd show over here. Oh well, it's not like I need any more reason to sit in front of the TV instead of doing my own sewing projects.
And me!
ReplyDeleteIt's shaping up into a really good series this year. Ahhh, maxi dresses. Those were the days.
