One Up

A bit of lightness is needed.....thought I 'd share one of those moments when the stars align with the moon!

A woman I know is a bit of a show off!
Designer shoes, flash car, expensive holidays,
She loves to underline just how great her life is!
Anyhow I saw her yesterday coming out of  Sainsbury's supermarket recycling area.
She stopped her very large car and dropped her posh sunglasses to say hi
Noting that she makes a big deal of always going to Waitrose I chirped up with a
" We don't usually see you here! " kind of comment
" I've just been to the clothes bank" she explained, trying to sound all pious
" Did you find anything nice?" I purred with a smile!

  11. Oh, the poor woman! To think that people do NOT realize that she is NOT a member of the great unwashed!

  22. Bitchy. I find all sorts of Givenchy and Yves St Laurent design label clothing in the local 'OP-shops ..... we must keep up standards and images; do'n'cha know.

  23. Oh John Grey you are pure gold.

  24. You made me smile John.
How am I doing you ask? OK I think. Set backs now and then of course (it is twelve weeks today) but my family and wonderful friends are helping me. My friend Wendy and I go out two or three times a week for lunch and a group of us go out for lunch every Sunday - it all helps.
Today I am driving over to Sedbergh (about 35 miles) with Tess to meet my God daughter for lunch. My first solo drive of any length since David died. I shall get there - it will all get easier once I move away from the memories. Much love dear one.

  28. Naughty, but very very funny. I always think these 'show-offs' types have an inner lack of confidence and self-worth; I'm not at all jealous of anyone else's possessions, the older I get the less I care about material things.

  32. We have a neighbour like her, we're always hearing about her 'perfect' life. Her children are perfect, her house is bigger than everyone elses (even though the whole road are of the same design!), her car is amazing, you know the type!
Strangely enough she's gone a bit quiet of late and is driving everywhere, no stopping to show off to the neighbours......could it be because her 'utterly perfect' son has just been nicked for fraud and theft???
I admit to having a tiny chuckle when I found out.......no, I shall tell the truth......I was rolling around the floor laughing until I cried! He's a truly horrible young man, and it's about time he was taken down a peg or two!
She's always telling us what a wonderful housewife she is, and how she won't appear on GBBO as she'd 'walk it'! I wonder if she has a recipe for a cake with a file in it?
I haven't see her to speak to since he was arrested, so haven't needed a bitchy comment yet, but I've got a few lined up!

  36. Obviously 'new money'. 'Old money' have manners and are not ostentatiously vulgar in any way.
