Fat Feet

After a night shift comprising of multiple  code browns , and without any sleep I have helped the Prof  set the tent up at Porth Eirias Beach.
We looked like a couple of Victorian safari porters as we treked over from the car park with two folding deck chairs, a wind break, a beach bag stuffed nose to nipple with everything any self respecting boy scout may need in a crisis, a cool bag with salads, melon and fruit , ipads and toilet roll, and after the obligatory row we set up base camp on the golden sands of the North Wales coast.
It's been more stressful than organising the friggin Olympics!

  2. After the row, Chris should play a familiar game with your chubby toes - "This little piggy went to market...this little piggy stayed at home..." etc.

  3. I hope that, once you got over the stress of setting up camp, you managed to dip those poor tooties into the soothing ocean. They actually LOOK like feet that have been stood on for far too many hours! Enjoy some peaceful contemplation of sea, sand and the inside of your eyelids.

  4. Think those are fat feet? Nothing compared to mine - especially my left foot, which due to having virtually pureed the ligaments when I broke my ankle, swells up when the temperature goes above 23 degrees, to the point of being spherical.

    2. It's getting that way right now. If I leave it one place for too long, I fear it may gain its own moon.

One can imagine what 'code browns' are. I feel a tune coming on. "I do like to be beside the seaside. I do like to be beside the sea". Stressful perhaps, but I hope it was pleasurable.

  7. I think those footsies need some pampering, like a pedi and a massage.

  8. Walking on sand and soaking in the seawater are great for your feet .. like a soak and a pumice at the manicure salon.
I , personally, never see feet that are especially beautiful except on babies , those .... I kiss :)

  17. You should try going to the beach with children. It's not even worth it. After you've lugged every bit of equipment necessary to sustain their lives and to entertain them and set it all up, you have to make sure that they don't drown which precludes naps and day drinking. After several hours of this, you have to break it all down and lug it back up the beach and to the car and at this point, the children are sunburned, fussy, tired, and have sand up their butts. And actually, the adults are in the same condition.

  18. I can never make a trip to the beach without all the accessories - windbreak, parasol, deckchair, picnic, surfboard, etc. Last time I was loaded down with stuff and plodding along the beach, my hat flew off, I turned to chase after it, lost my balance and face planted right in the sand. Paul thought it was very funny.

  19. Your feet look in need a holiday or a bigger pair of shoes.

  20. Are you planning to move onto the beach? That sounds stressful. When I go it's just a chair and umbrella, brought over by the ever cute boys who run the rental, and my beach bag with two towels, water, lotion, phone and maybe grapes.

    2. Lying prostrate on the floor can be nice .. there weren't any sandy little dogs there were there ? here I would have curious cats walking all over my body, trying to figure out what the hell ?

  23. Enjoy! I especially liked the "obligatory row" bit. Those are required for all vacations, putting up the Christmas tree, and wallpapering.

  26. Fat feet pah, you've got baby feet! Mine are so gnarly, I could perch in trees. Glad I'm not the only one that does the beach as if there for the duration.

  29. A sigh of recognition on the feet front.
I hope your day at the seaside was restorative and lovely. I thought that parents (particularly new parents) had to carry the most 'stuff' but I am obviously wrong.

  30. Doesn't the grit taste better at the beach. Food simply attracts sand. We call those waffle stompers where I come from.

  31. I prefer an early morning or a sunset stroll. Too fair for daylight at the beach. I burn to a crisp. Much rather a seafood restaurant and a giant picture window. Hope you enjoyed the day.

  33. Love the "obligatory row". Sounds like here,NOTHING gets done with out an obligatory row! Oh boy, you should have heard the yammering this afternoon while we were trying to set up a planter box!!!!

  34. Have you been taking photo opportunity ideas from " call me Dave" ?

  35. Growing up near beaches, I would simply stumble onto the sand with a towel under my arm. But when I used to go to the beach with Jerry in San Diego, it required a sled to haul his chair, umbrella, blanket, three towels, food, drinks, books, lotions... And Jerry "doesn't DO row," so I'd bite my tongue and pray he wouldn't want to go with me the next time.
