Thinking

I facetimed my husband just before he went to bed in his London hotel room this evening
He 's had a crap birthday.
He asked me if all the dogs were on the bed and I said "of course not!"
Of course they were!
Hey ho
Before I went to bed Winnie sat in the arm chair next to me and carefully watched me for over an hour as I watched tv
I have no idea why, but she did it..... There must have been a reason....she looked so serious!
Bulldogs think..I know they do........but of what? .......I have no idea

    2. No she's hoping you'll eat crackers in bed.

  3. She wants the men in overalls to visit. She is willing you to call for repairs. Or maybe she just wants a hug and a rub down. That is pure doggy love in her eyes.

  4. Birthdays when separated from loved ones are usually not the best. No matter how much planning ahead is done.

Winnie may have been doing an imitation of the Prof to keep you company?

  5. Winnie is probably wondering why you are so complacent with Chris missing.

  6. Something like, "I wonder if I can freak out this human by staring at him for an hour or so."

  7. Because one of her humans is missing and she is keeping a close eye on you to be sure you don't go missing also. Plus she loves you and probably just likes to look at you. I did that to my husband lol

    I loved it.
Maybe Winnie just loves you (I know she does) or she could be starting to feel ill again.
    I think it is love.

  22. Oh, John, I thought of you and Winnie yesterday as I was meeting my neighbor's new bulldog puppy. Her old dog died last year and we were wondering when she would be ready for another. And, here she came down the sidewalk with a beautiful black and white bulldog puppy. Such a friendly and sweet natured pup!
All is now right on my block.

  24. My Frenchie climbs up on the Boy Scouts lap, puts her paws on each of his shoulders and licks his face whenever we argue. Her discomfort is palpable and her desire to make it better is humanlike.

  25. That's pure love in her eyes - for you, John. I'm wondering; does Chris read your blog?

  26. Your post today about Winnie has stirred a memory of our old neighbour's bulldog called Emma from when I was a child. She was the first one I had encountered and I've retained a soft spot for them ever since. They are such characters! Arilx

  27. My two fur kids are always on alert if one of us is absent..without the household complete Winnie was probably just considering your shared circumstance and feelings.. dogs as you know are very aware of both.
