Christmas Eve

Bloody Hell it's Christmas Eve!
I'm sitting in my mother in law's conservatory sipping strong coffee.
I'm also wearing my Walking Dead Christmas Jumper bought for me by my sister!
A thoughtful gift I thought!
We start the slog of family visits later today, which I prepared for nicely by sleeping 10 hours on a blow up matress on the floor of the dining room. I tell you this to add a little colour into the proceedings for getting up seems to be somewhat of an interesting spectacle for me as I have to roll onto the floor like a hippo sliding off a mud bank!
Have a relaxed, peaceful and good natured day, you' all!
Hey ho! Ho! Ho!

  1. Your jumper is a festive delight! And don't worry, no one can get up off those mattresses with an ounce of dignity. X

    2. Is John not allowed to sleep in the same room as The Prof at mother's house? Surely a litte late for that!

  4. I fear I am only two years short of being ungracefully getting up from the floor by rolling over, as my partner so ungracefully does.

  6. The jumper is the envy of many of us - But getting up off the floor after sleeping isn't. I had a friend who couldn't.... Or was that me....

  34. You did rather well sleeping 10 hours on a blowup mattress. Our grandchildren rather enjoy them and think great fun. When you can no longer sleep or are comfortable it is time to splurge on a hotel room.

Happy Christmas and enjoy the family visits.

  39. Sorrell must be a conservative as she has a conservatory. If she was Labour she'd have a laboratory. And if she was UKIP she'd have an old shed filled with crap.
P.S. I had heard of "A Hippo on the Lawn" but not of "A Hippo on the Axminster"

(which, hopefully, will not be misunderstood; since it comes from 'down under' and is very hot here. However, be of good cheer, have every confidence that Old Sol will return to your climes - then you can lend him back to us ... heh).
