  2. Haha. It is October and we have people coming around the store daily asking when we're putting up our Christmas displays.

  3. All of the stores here are putting Christmas things out now. It's so sad.
What's up with everyone today? This is the third blog that has caused me to laugh out loud.

  6. Yes, it is October. In the stores Thanksgiving Halloween and Christmas happily co exist. Although no sign of the festive season is displayed in our house I am well aware of the proximity of Christmas and plans are underway.

  7. Ugh.
We are escaping to Mexico for Christmas this year. I think the children are delighted that I won't be around to worry about. I always fall into the deepest depression at Christmas except for another year we spent it in Mexico. I have no problem watching the people there enjoy the holiday. They don't expect me to join in and I am grateful.

  10. I know! But I have to admit that I have been eyeballing Christmas chocolates in the stores. So far I have been strong. I have resisted.

  13. Is that Robin being slapped? And more importantly, is he sporting a man bun??? As for me, hubby and I are heading for Florida soon, where we'll be spending our Halloween and Christmas at the beach. I am definitely NOT a winter person!

  14. Today I saw novelty Christmas jumpers at Marks and Spencers in Meadowhall. For some strange reason, the Rudolf one reminded me of you.

  16. Love it!!I totally agree! In our house Christmas decorations don't get brought out until after the first Sunday in Advent... that's DECEMBER.... and although the christmas cake needs making in September (except when we're away on holiday - it'll have extra brandy poured over it to make up for lost time!).

  18. Working for so many Card Companies, Christmas cards are designed in the Summer so they can be on the shelves for Christmas.
I had my Christmas Card designed but I am not sure I can get it done for this year, too complicated ! I had to much work for others to finish. So last night I thought up a new one.
Plus what little shopping I do is done, packages to be sent to Japan and other places. I need to finish the gifts I make this year and get them off to the printers. So when December comes I can sit back enjoy the month and bake cookies this year !
    Lets hope.

    cheers, parsnip

  19. I used to wonder why on earth did the shops start Christmas in October and then I started with that well known store that lost your photos, I was on the stock ordering side and as they pointed out for some people who get paid monthly there were only two more "paydays" before Christmas and it gave them chance to start their shopping. That was their excuse anyway.

  20. I'm a sucker for seasonal festivities, but balk when I see mince pies in my local Co-op in September. October for me is all about All Hallows Eve, and I have a nice pair of very large home grown pumpkins hardening off for this very occasion! I know, pumpkins are very USA, but what the heck, I love to carve a lantern and any excuse to eat homemade pumpkin pie!

  21. You captured my feelings exactly John. In my book, Christmas starts around the middle of December.
