A note of Thanks

we are homeward bound this morning and by teatime the children  Sorry, animals will be collected and collated back home.
We can find out more about George's affliction, prise Winnie from her foster mother and pay a kings ransom to the kennels housing the Welsh terriers, who will, no doubt, sleep for the next 24 hours.

I've enjoyed my time in Kent. Thanks to Sorrel for her hospitality and for her never ending effort to go the last mile. Thanks to Jon and Charlotte for hosting some delicious meals and thanks to Duncan and Izzy for the use of the beach hut even though it took us an age to work out what went where!

Richard was a brick chauffeuring us around the Dover cliffs and Leo was very sweet quizzing me to distraction about soddin Star Wars.

So a big thank you to "The family Prof."...

  3. The Jedi Order is said to have been created on which planet?
Which Sith Lord started the 'Rule of Two'?
Which character says the last words in Revenge of the Sith?

  4. Sounds like a good family holiday and you certainly chose a good week weather wise. The 'canine family' will be over joyed to see you both back.

  6. A good time was had by all, by the looks of things. BUT, will Winnie be happy to settle down at home again after her five star accommodation ? Will they let her go?

  9. Good hosts, by the sound of it. From your previous post, they seem more constrained than your family. Opposites attract and at times it is good to experience the 'other way'.

  10. Such happy times for you both. You deserve the time off and away. Fingers crossed for George.

  12. It sounds as though you have had a lovely break. I'm sure all the animals will be fine once they are home, although I suspect that Winnie will sulk for a while at missing all her recently found creature comforts ;-)

Yep, I too always feel as though I am handing over a lot of ransom money to get my dogs back out of kennels, and ours sleep for a whole day too. I guess they are so relieved to be home in the quiet away from the twice daily barking session that goes on in our kennels when dogs are dropped off and picked up.

  19. Might Leo of "Star Wars" be the young man in the blue shirt?

Better buy some roast beef on your way to get Winnie!

Thanks for keeping us updated. It's almost like having a trip away myself.

  20. It sounds like the opposite of all the family holidays most people endure :) My husband said the only family he would ever go on holiday with would be me and maybe the children lol .. and the dogs if we could. Please let us know as soon as you get a definite answer to what is happening with sweet George ... I hope it is an abscess/infection and nothing worse.
