The "Underpants of Shame"

This morning we had iced buns for the sheep
This afternoon it's the " Underpants of Shame"
Winnie has entered her short " season"
So will be " blobbing" red marks all over the cottage soft furnishings
unless " cushioned" by a pair of my underpants
Hey ho

  3. Well, she can't help it, poor thing, so no shame there. Now, the slippers of sex are a different matter altogether!

  6. How thoughtful you have chosen a nice colour for her, I read somewhere that dogs can only see red and green colours if that's true, I am sure she will be admiring herself.

  10. No shame in that, except for your underwear ... Depends puts out a disposable garment, have you tried them?

  11. Do you realise John that you have layed yourself wide open to a Tom Jones moment. Gawd knows what your postie wil think when they all start arriving. For those who haven't a clue what I am talking about I am sure that John will enlighten you.

  12. Been there and done that :) My husband would be right there, commiserating with you about that shame.
When we were first married, we bought a dog. A dream dog, as in the look of her .. A Russian Wolfhound/Borzoi.
Her name was Maya and even though she grew to be the size of a small pony, she was gentle and delicate and so very beautiful. And my husband had to walk her on the streets if Manhattan wearing her little girl pants ... he never let me forget that. ever.
She would stop traffic just by the look of her, so for her to wear the panties ... well, you can imagine.

  13. When I was a kid growing up in Illinois, we had a wonderful English Bulldog named Christine. My mother and dad did exactly the same thing when here time arrived and she always looked so embarrassed when she had to wear those pants.

  14. There's a brand of dog panties sold here called "Bitches Britches". Haha.

Poor Winnie, it's tough being a girl sometimes.

  15. Poor Winnie ... but at least she gets to share Dad's knickers ;-)

My boys used to hate it when I called their 'underpants' knickers .... so I did it all the more!!

  16. Have you noticed that quite often it is difficult to tell an elderly man from an elderly woman (if they aren't terribly fashion conscious and glamourous or mutton dressed as lamb) when they get older, for instance, sensible shoes, comfy clothes, masculine short haircuts and no makeup on a face with facial hair? well poor Winnie made me think of that by the expression on her face in that pic....as if she is thinking 'why? when will this all be over and I don't have to stoop to the indignity of this anymore..'.

  22. We assume that you'll have Mary spayed, rather than put her through the same treatment?
As "e" says, Winnie can't help it, poor old girl, so no shame attached - even if your underpants have seen better days ! Pop into Victoria's Secret and buy her some pretty frillies....

    1. Mary has a wonderful pedigree so we hope to have one set of pups from her

      Delete
    2. Good for you. We'll always need purebred dogs from ethical home-raising breeders. Be those pups will get every advantage in their start to life, and be showered with love too. Just how it should be.

      Delete
    3. With the exception of our two rescue dogs, our Labs have all had excellent pedigrees, but we've never been tempted to breed from them - they are just simply family pets.
Will you take her back to the breeder when her time comes? We were asked to do this with ours, should we wish to breed from them, so that the pedigree was kept "pure".

  23. Winnie needs a neck scarf now to balance out the outfit. She looks very good in red.

  24. When shopping for underpants most blokes look for S,M,L or XL but I guess that you have look out for BG (Bulldog size). When Winnie despoils the furniture try giving her a bulldog clip!

  25. Will Winnie be spayed eventually? At least buy her, her own panties. note: I agree with curvywitch and coppa's girl.

    1. She's too old now.......and operations on old bulldogs are a bit of a risk given their airway problems

  26. Oh that bring back memories. When I was a teenager many moons ago (at least 41) we had a golden Labrador called Sue. When she came into season she used to sport a pair of my dad's old Y fronts when she was in the house. Its a lot cleaner that way; but used to get funny looks from visitors who came to the house. Her tail went through the Y part of the pants and held in place with extra elastic threaded through the waist. As long as it does the job that's all that matters. Now you just have to keep the neighbourhood males at bay! Bulldogs are lovely creatures. My Grandad had three different ones.

  27. i did not figure you for a red panties kind of guy.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You have the same size? I saw a pair of red underpants just the other day. One of our lovely neighbors helped me to shovel the snow. As we were working alongside, I noticed that he (being from South America) had fashioned a pair of galoshes for himself - one ankle was wrapped in a headscarf and the other one in a pair of red man undies. He had also made himself a snow shovel out of a long stick and a piece of plywood. His snow shovel worked better than my store bought one. I kept quiet about the nature of his galoshes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If I were the Prof I shouldn't want them back - not now, not ever. They would be Winnie's from henceforth, even forever.

I do think red was the exact wrong color to use, though, John. How will you be able to tell when Winnie's "short season" has ended? Pink or white or baby blue, that's the ticket.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can see all the panties being sent your way... If I were truly sadistic I would send along a pair of frilly pink panties.

Nah, Miss Winnie is too sweet to deserve that.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Poor Winnie, she doesn't look very comfortable. At least her season is short.
I've heard of people using disposable nappies for this.

    ReplyDelete
  41. You've mentioned Winnie is old, will there be a time soon when she won't have her season any more? A doggy menopause for her to look forward to?

  45. Surely you will have inspired some Etsy crafter to come up with custom built pants for dogs. Brilliant! x

  46. We buy our dog food on-line from a Warehouse which advertises all manner of other things - including such "items" that Winnie may need. It's amazing what you can buy now !

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think you should let her choose her own underpants (like she does slippers). She doesn't look very pleased with your selection.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love your blog and your outlook on life, you stories of your town, and your love of animals. But I'm just wondering if you don't intend to breed Winnie why you don't spay her? This is not a rant, just a question. She does look cute in your panties…bulldog transvestites are quite my thing. '-)

    1. Nora, winnie is a rescue bulldog. We dont know her age but know she is perhaps older than we think.
Bulldogs have problems with their airway, so putting her through a rather large operation would not be worth it ......her season lasts perhaps a week or so

    2. Ah, thank you for that. I have a cat with desperate dental disease, but he has also cardiac disease and we can't risk anesthesia. I understand. I am sorry to hear that her undies were your husband's tho. '-(

  49. And with that, Winnie's last bit of dignity is out the door!

  50. Looking at these again, I can understand why the Prof would be upset.
