Strictly News

One moment you are appearing in one of the top class shows on British tv and the next you are bouncing around in a silver leotard in a parochial Welsh Theatre Winter Panto......
Go figure...

Strictly's Robin Winsor turned up as the gay mirror in our local Production of " Snow White" and although he was pretty dire the production itself was fun enough to make us all ( The Prof and my sisters et al)  feel just that little bit Christmasy .
Ironically Strictly finished this evening with the cute and diffident  " The Wanted" band member Jay McGuiness crowned a worthy winner........

Mind you I think this year's series will be known for the arrival of the Russian dancer Gleb Savchenko.....who is so much more tasty that poor old Robin..........
Mind you Gleb......things havea  tendency to change and so do  tastes....given a few dozen months......and I am wondering is they have Panto in Moscow

Woof
Btw does anyone know why my followers numbers are up and down like a whores'  knickers?

  1. You have 911 followers. I got excited with I finally got 118.
I haven't noticed your numbers going up and down but it could be the Google thingee . Even if I quit reading a blog I follow, the number stays the same .. blame it on Google.
Oh ... and I can only comment on any of these blogs from Safari, they don't "take" if I use Google Chrome ..grrrr

  2. Followers? People follow you? Guess I'll have to use the word "nude" in my post titles.

    1. My stats go up enormously every time I mention fifty shades of grey. I am sure the readers are gutted when they discover my post has nothing to do with the book.

  4. John in the states lots of famous actors do what is called summer stock in their off tomes of the year , it is their way of giving back to small community's around the country and practicing the craft by giving live performances.

  6. I cannot comment here, but will happily consult with you regarding getting your numbers back to the, ahem, 'respectable' range.
I'm not saying it'll be cheap, but it will be doable.
My rates will be the usual desultory rip off per hour, travel (first class, natch), per diem 300 sterling/day, etc.

  7. You would look interesting in a silver leotard, pictures of that might increase the numbers - morbid curiosity if nothing else. Seriously, it is the time of the year when readers and commenters fluctuate with travel and holiday obligations.

  8. I love a good Panto; none here of course. As for followers, mine have stayed static for months, but yesterday I lost one. Life eh?

  9. So pleased that Jay won (although probably not the best dance of the night). He just moves so beautifully and I love his diffidence.

  10. I don't recognise ANY of the names you drop, for which I perhaps ought to be thankful.

No. of followers? I should be so lucky! Mine is now down to 40 (that's F-O-R-T-Y!), having lost three of the faithful in the last few weeks alone. Poor me!

    1. I always read you Ray, I just don't 'follow'. I'm an inveterate 'hopper', click, click, click....I only eventually caved and 'followed' John because he's so needy....

    2. Ah yes, you commented recently, didn't you? Hope you saw my response to yours. Always grateful for anyone coming by.

  11. 'Tis the time of year John. Everyone in the UK is too busy pushing their overloaded trollies round Tesco, and those in the rest of the world likewise. However they'll all come back, hungover, in the New Year !

  12. It's the weekend here but you are usually my guilty morning pleasure whilst procrastinating over getting into the shower before work. So, what I am trying to say is I'm a regular. However I don't know if I'm a follower or how to become one.

  13. It's not just your numbers dropping, I have lost 12 in a few hours!

  14. Ah panto. Our city's pro theatre company is doing a version of Robin Hood. Classic stuff with a great dame, good music etc. I wanted to take my staff to it as our Christmas outing but I left it too late to get tickets. Pft. Panto here starts before Christmas, and then continues on afterwards.

  15. Yes, I was pleased that Jay won.
Re your numbers going up and down - Christmas shopping means folk haven't got time to look.

  16. I recently lost 5 in a few hours, very bizarre, don't think it was anything I said, I'm putting it down to blogger doing weird things.

  17. Not the least pleased about Jay. Kellie & Kevin danced their socks off and were much better. Too many must be doing the popularity vote - not that the BBC would ever give out the figures! We can't vote as we are not in the UK.
As to Followers. Do all these people read every day? There are others who are readers but not Followers. Do you get the Stats. for all options?

  18. Numbers = blogger issue I am guessing. Mine and many others are the same. So annoying when blogger goes on a wobbly isn't it!

  19. I don't care about numbers, but I do care about the people who I have gotten to know through Blogger. They are real and a gift. I would be very sad if they dropped off.

  20. We've got Nigel Havers in our Panto. I would go and see it if it were Bill Nighy.

    1. Oh, and re the follower numbers, I'm having the same thing. The difference is that I cannot afford to lose them, unlike some...

  21. I gained a follower this week. Probably one of yours.

  22. I read on someone elses blog that Blogger and google are cleaning up naughty trolls and fake accounts. I dont know if that is the right way of putting it. Maybe thats true?

Can we have a George update please? Thanks

  23. My followers dropped by 40 this week! Forty! Apparently my whore's knickers only go down, not up again. LOL. I think Blogger Friend Connect is going through a "correction" on some basis.

  24. I've noticed my numbers going up and down a lot just recently .... I just thought I was pissing some people off more than usual ;-)

We're off to the panto on Monday night .... Oh yes we are !!

  25. Just lost 12 in one night!

  26. I say screw the knickers and the numbers and let us faithful adore you!

  27. Saw you post from Dec 19 wishing everyone a Happy Christmas. Couldn't let the holiday go by without wishing you, the Prof and all you little beasties a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year John.

  28. I'm not sure how the "following" numbers are worked out but personally I haven't been visiting as often as I usually would... nothing to do with you, the content of the blog or anything to do with it.. just that we have been dealing with some god awful shit at the moment and it takes over my flipping life!! No time for blog reading :\
