Chin Up Dearheart

I've not long got home after a difficult and sad shift
My last blog depressed me,
The spats between the bloggers depressed me,
My slimming world fat club day depressed me,
My husband is travelling thousands of miles away,
That's depressed me
And William has just opened his bowels up against the fridge for some bizarre reason
( I've left it there like a Banksy sculpture)
And So
I have been saved by two things
A scotch Egg bought from Marks
And a laughing bulldog having her arse whacked by a small black cat

  3. I think is has been a crappy day all around. We just saved a blind senior dog from our local kill animal control and I am afraid she is more than blind and we may have to let her go to the rainbow bridge, so just about now I would gladly come over and clean up your floor and fridge just so I can play with your dogs.

Andrew, you had to give up a round of golf halfway through, surely that makes it a very good day!
    Not a golf fan, sorry!

  10. Pumpkin took the turn from the stairs to the landing a little too sharply the other day and expelled more than wind as a result. Fortunately, it had dried by the time I got hame and had to clear it up.

My epilepsy is a type that can heighten certain senses, and I have a hyper acute sense of smell. My possible mini stroke episode heightened it even further. So clearing up after a sometimes billious bundle of fluff can be a struggle. Though I'm ever so glad this house has mostly laminate flooring.

A few weeks ago I had to fly to England for my dad's funeral. My son was had planned a trip to visit granddad only to have him die the day before he flew from the US. He kept to his plans and flew alone to a house in mourning rather than a happy reunion. I followed him a week later for the funeral. Not a happy occasion except that funerals, as with other family occasions, bring everyone together. I met a 95 year old great aunt who I thought had died long ago that I hadn't seen since 1975!

On the M6 we stopped at a service station for a lunch break. They had an M&S food store so I bought a couple of scotch eggs and we thought of you as we ate them. There's some good in even the worst events. The bad things give context so that we can appreciate how special the good things are.

  18. To H--- with blogger spats and to H--- with fat club! Everything else will be doable if you ignore those two.

Winnie looks very pleased with her deep tissue massage. "A little to the left, Albert, please!"

  21. It was a shitty day for me too.

I just caught up on the last blog that got everyone in such an uproar. I don't have anything to add to that discussion. It seems like people are so ready to fight and argue these days...it just makes me tired.

  22. Wow, what is it about today ? Mine was an okay day mixed with fear of being sued or losing a lot of money and all kinds of things a newly widowed person runs into.
Thankfully, a good friend and a good attorney have told me not to worry. Let's hope everyone has a Fabulous Friday

  23. Well thAnkyou Winnie and John for the cutest photo. Winnie looks georgous. I have such a bad dose of the flu I feel like crap. Watch an episode of Seachange, that will cheer you up . Xx

  24. I had a gang of Essex girls here yesterday; they came to print off their boarding passes. They left the youngest (16-ish) to do the actual work, and I was amazed by how quickly she did everything. It made me feel like a total incompetent. And she didn't even use the mouse!

But hey, not as bad as shit down the front of the fridge.

  26. Get some rest, lick your feet? Maybe I should reconsider this dog thing? Long ago, in much darker days, someone said, the sun will come up in the morning, and we get to start again, I won't give up until the sun gives up. Enjoy the few days solo.

  27. That photograph says it all about the temperament of bulldogs John - one of my favourite breeds.
Cheer up about that husband - only a couple of weeks and you will be joining him. Remember absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Incidentally - you asked to see my home - I put a photo of my living room on a couple of days ago - scroll down and have a look. See whether it fits in with the image you have of me. xx

  28. Well John as my wise old cross dressing great aunt Fanny/uncle Midas once never said "If life gives you lemons, squirt them in the eye of the bastard that pissed you off". Sadly he/she only ever existed as my imaginary friend. Now get your pinny on, and get out the shake'n'vac, and get rid of the poo pong! x

We all need something to cheer us up at the end of the day and if that involves eating a scotch egg while watching an S&M floorshow with animals, then you go for it!
Think I'll stick with Doritos and an episode of Red Dwarf.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You need more than a scotch egg to cheer you up, even if it's Marks and Sparks' finest. How about a glass of wine or three? Or a DVD of your favourite romantic movie? That is, if you can manage to watch it all through before William does something he shouldn't.

  32. Winny to the rescue! What do people without pets do when they are down and depressed? My animals have rescued me over and over. Right now, I have a 12 week old kitten sitting and purring on my lap. For this moment, life is glorious.
