Born June 1st 1962

The Prof likes to treat me on my birthday, but I have to be firm that we do things I want to do
rather than things HE wants to do
Shopping is NOT my idea of fun
Anyhow tomorrow we are going to Liverpool tomorrow!
I have insisted that we go and see the latest Juliet Binoche arty movie ( only showing over the border)
( he's agreed through gritted teeth)
then we will have a bite to eat,
After that I know we will have a mooch around John Lewis ( ok you HAVE  to compromise don't you?)
Tomorrow night we will go and see my twin sister with a cake!
Fifty fucking three!
I'll be half a century old plus three
Hey, f&cking Ho!

And yes, you are yet a child.

  7. Happy birthday.

It's going to vbe a great year. I've heard good things about 53... although I think that might be how old Jerry Garcia and Frank Zappa both were when they died. It's almost as bad as 27 is for rock stars.

    But we're not rock stars.

    Happy birthday anyway.

  8. A mere child indeed - how do you think I feel - you are four months younger than my oldest child :)
Heres another Happy Birthday winging it's way up to you from Down Under.

  23. You're not getting old, you're merely well seasoned - - and seasoned is sexy.

I stopped remembering my birthdays somewhere around age 45. The only thing that reminds me is when I look in a mirror - - and then I scream like Baby Jane Hudson.

    Have a great birthday, John!

  30. I am 65 now, but 53 was a very good year for me. Many great things happened. I discovered that there was still a lot of life left in the old boy and lots of life left to live. May you have a happy day, happy year, happy future!

Happy Birthday John, it's 9:00 on the 31st still here so I'm still three hours away from my birthday. I'll be 55 you young whipper snapper!

Birthday celebrations will be a walk along the side of the Chesapeake bay followed by a trip to a garden centre to fill in holes in the garden planting. Lunch at a local restaurant called Smoke that I've never been to but I'm told serves all smoked meats etc. Cake in the afternoon then I'm cooking in the evening, just don't know what yet. Hope your day is every bit as good.

Say hello to Liverpuddle land! I met my wife there and spent most of the 1980's there. Good times!

  46. Happy Birthday John! May it be memorable, for all the right reasons. My son turned 35 today - his first birthday as a dad, and memorable for that. His 8 week old son gave him a present - he pooped all down the front of his clean tee-shirt!! And Matt is so besotted he didn't mind one little bit! So may your birthday presents be to your liking too!!

  77. Belated happy birthday. I have been known to hijack my husband's birthday day-out too, but now we are getting more geriatric, the fallback provision is always Hay-on-Wye if the weather is awful (which as a November lad, it usually is).

  78. I bet you had a ball, compromises notwithstanding! My hubs didn't want to do anything for his birthday this year. He went to work! He has to take my birthday off though. :)
