Rainbow's End

The cottage smells of paint, winnie still has yelliw stains on her face and I've missed a bit under the radiator!, but most of the paining is finished, which is great for tomorrow I have an appointment with the wedding registrar to go over the wedding...........
Chris told me to " be neat" when I go......
"You don't want to think that we are riff raff" he said raising one Roger Moore eyebrow!
We are having one piece of music during the service......which is  " our tune"......
It had to be a film theme..did it not?
This is it

Who else has an "our song"
And what is it?

    3. Jimmy Shand (and his band) once made a record called 'The Jimmy Shand Experience', around the same time as Hendrix made his. Style...

    7. It's not obligatory to wear Fair Isle anything, toss a caber or wear a sporran if Scotland is your homeland. LOL x

  6. Our song is 'Black' by Pearl Jam, a song about unrequited/absent love which isn't exactly romantic I guess

Our song is 'Midnight Train to Georgia' by Gladys Knight and the Pips.

  15. Not only did we have a" tune" but our tune was the same "Moon River" except we were married in 1966 and moved to Widnes England after our marriage. We lived in Widnes and my husband was stationed in Burtonwood. I have just joined this blog and am looking forward to reading yours! Good luck on your wedding.

  16. My parents were dating when they saw a movie about the composer Sigmund Romberg; One of the songs in the movie became "their song". "When I Grow Too Old To Dream".

  18. I was a freshman in college the year the movie came out. If I'd had a boyfriend then, no doubt, that would have been the song. Saw it with dorm mates.
What a great pick, for any reason.

  24. I'm wondering if you're going to have this very tape played in the church, the Ms Hepburn version. You say this is the only music you're having? Pity 'cos I've been waiting to find out who was going to provide the swelling organ.

  28. You are so romantic. When the Best Beloved and I got married, he arranged for his friend's band to play "There Goes My Everything" for our first dance! Absolutely clueless.

  29. Oh my goodness, I have two versions of it on my current shop 'mix tape' (i.e. usb stick) and my brother is playing guitar on them both.
Our song is Sunshine in Leith by the Proclaimers. Our first dance, and on another mix tape - it comes on about 10.45am and we have a little waltz to it! (It is such a romantic song, except it starts: My heart was broken; sorrow!)

  30. Our first dance at our wedding was to Nina Simone's Baby Just Cares For Me. Our taste in music rarely meets so this is as near as we get to 'our tune'.

  31. Good choice of song John - lovely haunting melody

'Our' Song is 'The Twelfth of Never' sung by Johnny Mathis of course. The number 12 has played a big part in our life right from the beginning in 1960 - nearly 55 years ago.

  32. That's a wonderful choice John. 'Our Song' is 'feeling hot hot hot'! Off the plane and onto the dance floor for our honeymoon in St Lucia 27 years ago!

  33. We have two 'our songs'.
    1. Your Love Is Better Than Ice Cream - Sarah McLachlan
    2. Sunshine On Leith - The Proclaimers

Yours is so much more romantic and classic!

  36. My first husband and I had 'our music' which was an obscure piece of early chamber music ( we both played early instruments) - the farmer and I have no such thing - 'our' song for a down to earth Yorkshire farmer is a bit much you know. That wedding is getting near - I have it writ large on my calendar by the computer - wish I could just sneak in the back on the big da.

  39. What is a "Huckleberry friend"? Is Chris one? Perhaps you should have painted the kitchen "huckleberry friend" instead of "juniper blush" which if you on't mind me saying looks so gay!

  40. We have a song that we had played at our wedding, but I cannot for the life of me remember either what it was called or who sang it. Well it took me five years to remember the date of our wedding anniversary so what do you expect!!

  47. I have always loved this song.

Turtles...Happy Together. We had the theme song of Romeo and Juliet played on piano at our wedding. Some would think that would put a like curse on our union but we are both still together for forty-three years this June.
